Weird problem on NFS playback

Hi guys,

I built a sagetv box on ubuntu 10.4 LTS because I wanted a box I can just leave for weeks and months.

The setup is pretty simple, single HDD, all media data are offloaded to a NAS I have in the closet via NFS.

and everything seems to work, except when I play music. It will get through the first 1 or 2 tracks on the playlist and then will just play the first 20sec or so of the next track and then nothing. no output, yet the counter continues to advance until the track finishes and the next track starts, again, 20sec and then nothing....

not very useful at all. I originally had autofs set up and thought it was the keepalive timer, increased it to like 10minutes and then 100 minutes but that didnt help.

Just set up a hard mount and that didnt help either.....

While the music had stopped playing I can still slash my way to the nas from a console screen and see that the nfs mount is still there and working....

Anyone got any ideas or experiences?

Are you playing from the computer itself or an extender? The problem doesn't seem related to nfs.
