Their was an update from Dan just a week or two ago. He stated they were making changes to allow people to more easily share STV's, and incorporate parts several different STV's.
He also asked that everybody be patient while they make improvements to the software. I don't remember him saying it would be weeks. So until you hear "Weeks" from an official source, why not just be patient like the rest of us.

yeah thats all they can ask now
the guys they gave it to first have at least some programming experience and have been using sage for a while and there is nothing worng with the ones available (but anyways) they want to be friendly to all users new or old and not all are computer much less sage experts so they need more time but they did give an update recently and you should read it |

Is Studio Ready Yet???
This reminds me of a story. It’s about a guy that brewed his own beer. Every time I would see this guy I would ask “Is the Beer ready yet!” and it was always the same answer “NO, it will be ready when it’s ready”. One day I went to see him and something happened to his beer, apparently it blew up all over the closest he was brewing it in. I guess there no point in this story except, when you rush things or even when you think things are going smooth they can blow up in your face. I’m sure the brew master of SageTV will take the time to make it perfect. |

I have to add that I think this group has been more than patient! We were told we would have Studio "sometime in" August, then September, then November, then December, then January, then they released v2.0 and everyone "quieted" down but figured it would come during the beta test, then we were told it would come "immediately" after the beta test. All along we were also told that it was completely finished except for some "documentation".
Atleast Studio is on the radar (somewhere?), they have already mysteriously dropped the web interface, and mvp support. No official comment exists that I know of from either Frey employee aside from that both features were "working" back in October. At some point you really have to say, enough is enough. BTW my intentions are not really directed at board members, but more so at the two Frey employees, who I hope will read this, realize its completely true, and change for the better in the future. I am not asking for Studio to be released tomorrow, but they need to quit with these promises they obviously can not commit to. Basically if Studio is being revamped I assume its going to take more than a week to do, why not give us a "realistc" date, instead of pacifying us every few weeks. Meanwhile Meedio has given hard dates, and BeyondTV has already provided a documented API, so they are quickly losing what is "special" with Studio. As a software engineer I know its not the easiest thing in the world, but it is completely possible to give a "realistic" date, and at this point I think its only fair. That Random Guy |

....another reason to buy what you can touch...and not what is promised. I want MediaMVP support even more that Studio...I have a feeling I'll be waiting about a year for it too.

I don't think they ever said that they would support a native mvp client. I know they said that it could be done and that they, in fact, had one running to some degree but never actually said that they would release one and definitely not when it would happen. That is just my recollection though, I very well could be wrong.

I am betting SHS does it (unless Frey does)with the some help on the UI appearance but I could be wrong
because it does seem apparent that the moderators are given access to Studio (I could be wrong there as well) just speculating |

I got a bite from someone that knows how to develop for the MVP in the MlbDude Whats Next thread. That may be the next project I work on.

You are wrong... a couple of "regular" users such as Lauren, who is not a moderator, have Studio. And you continue to make statements on stuff where you are apparently just guessing. What makes you think SHS will do a MVP client? He has had access to Studio for several months now.
Speaking of guessing. How about the wrong guessing of the release date based on you not being able to read post dates on comments made about upcoming products? Quit trying to cause trouble and go play with another product, so we can enjoy this one. http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...&threadid=6219

Well ok maybe others get studio as well
my thoughts were speculating sorry for making you mad for whatever reason I think SHS will have something to do with the MVP client becuase he knows more about them than most people and developed the skin for the snapstream MVP client (I did not read too much about it so I could be a little off on this) well just remember this is just a forum I am not trying to mislead anyone and also I knew that laurengleen has an STV I have downloaded it and helped point out bugs to her |

I wish that I can say I can develop FOR the MVP. In writing for the MVP it is purely a matter of knowing HTML/Javascript. Heck most of the good work came from other users (splint/keith/greg/simmons/texmex) on SHS's forums. I can say that I am one of the developers for the BTV mod for the MVP... http://sourceforge.net/projects/mvpbtv/ ... but I use Sage... go figure... In any case, I think I am going to push to split the mod out for the Sage client and see about getting more users to give their $0.02 worth. In the CVS repository, any of the registered developers can make changes, to a central codebase. It's quite easy when you get used to it. Heck... if Frey would spring for a copy of Sage for a few of the more active mod developers and with a little help in utilzing the portions of the wiz/bin file related to the EPG, it won't be that hard. (knock on wood...) -Jason |
