Problem with sage server/client in 2.2.4?

I've switched from running sage just as a client to using the server & client...

Using the server control, I enable it and start it up--so far so good

Then I start up the client...and it sits and hangs...forever! The CPU is at 100% (about 50% sagetvservice and 50% sagetv)

I tried rebooting and got the same result...

When I killed the proceses I noticed a wiz.bin.corrupt0 file!

Stopping & Disabling the server made the client come up again (woohoo) but I lost my favorites & recordings. (Thank god for backups )

Has anybody had this problem? Do I need to do a clean install on Sage?

I'm running the latest java and Cayers 17 on a P4

THANKS!

I had something similar with my server (if I'm understanding your problem right). I think I caused it when I ran too many manual ComSkips on the client all at once (12 or 16 different shows). To cure it I reinstalled WinXP Home and Sage on the client and rebooted the Sage Server. At the time I was on 2.1.10 and it has never occured again so I don't really know that this reinstall fixed it or whether it will fix your problem but I did not have to do anything to the Server other than rebooting to fix the problem. If your client PC is only used as a client to Sage then it shouldn't be too bad and doesn't affect your Server. Sorry if this proves to be no help as I have only had 100% CPU on the server when I have had a corrupt MPEG file in my recording directories otherwise.

Hope this helps and doesn't take you too long if you go this route.

BobP.
