Perfect, I have an external software tuner (WinTV USB) that I used with BTV to do Live Streaming. I'll give Orb a try later tonight, hopefully its less of a resource hog than BTV 3.44.

On my newly upgraded adelphia cable modem (6mbps up/786kbps down) I was getting a 350kbps stream from my neighbor's unprotected wifi. So, yeah, the quality is way more than acceptable. At full screen, it's awesome.
I'm on the same adelphia plan, just noticed not too long ago that they increased the speed.

Yah, just noticed that. But I installed the software anyway just to see what it's like and I was shocked that it ran more processes and uses more resource than BTV 3.44 (Task Manager screenshot of 13 Orb processes below).

YIKES!!!!

I quickly uninstalled it. I'll just stick with BTV for now.

Hmm, I turned off the web services from their website, and I don't remember having so many processes. But geeze, that's ridiculous.

I did notice that if you quit out without letting the orb site know you've stopped the file, your sever goes on transcoding until the show's over. Which, needless to say, isn't ideal.

But on my 2600+ it was using about 70% of the CPU. I have a gig of ram, so I didn't notice a huge difference on mem usage. I'm glad I have the 350 though, b/c you wouldn't be able to watch TV while someone was streaming unless your CPU had help.
