hey everyone, I just got ATI HDTV card and did try to install HDNE and I am having some trouble. I get error message popping up when I try to start and it does say that:

Could not Build the ATSC BDA FilterGraph.

I did not install any ATI software that came with the card, I just installed HDNE as specified. I have NVDVD, pover VCR demo. I am trying to run HDNE on the same system that I have sage, I hope this is not a conflict.

Please help.

Thank you.

yes I did, demo version, but somehow it does crash (power vcr) when I try to start it, maybe I need to reinstall it or something... strange. I have xp sp2 and I just downloaded the demo before installation from their website.

chrysek -

Per your debug output - it looks like its not loading the TS Info Parser... It should have been installed with NVDVD? Can you use filtergraph editor to see if available?

Question Multiple Card Support...

Stealth, I have been talking to Stranger over at AVS about using HDNE in a multi-card PC. I intend to build a dual Fusion system for HD recording. Can you tell me if HDNE will support two cards, and if so is that with two instances of HDNE or only one?

Thanks
Gary

I'm looking to try this HDNE out with OTA but have a couple questions:

1) As I understand it, the HD programs are recorded as .ts streams. Do these files show up in the Sage media lists just like .mpg files?

2) Does Sage make the conversion from 1080i/720p to your desktop resolution?

3) Has anyone used the Fusion5 card yet?

Thanks,
Kevin W.

Thank you Stealth for your answer, well I think I have NVDVD installed but I am not sure how to use filtergraph editor to see if it is available. How can I do that? Do I need to install some program? So sorry but I realy do not know.

Which version of NVDVD should be installed to have it running. On NVidia website it says 2.55 version that they have I think. But I did see version 4.029 or something too.

Thank you so much for your help.

Chris

Right now, it records to MPEG program streams (standard .mpg), and they show up like anything else.

Yes, the video card will convert from whatever to your desktop resolution.

Right now the BDA Capture piece only grabs the first capture card - I am not sure how multiple cards would be handled.

A quick fix would be to have a second "dumb" pc setup with your second card and run HDNE on it too and set it up as second network encoder... It shouldn't have to be a beefy machine either just something simple to capture and push over your network.

I know its not the most elegant solution, but thats my $.02 until I can test that config...

If that's the case then... I think my comskip setup will have issues with this. I'm using DirMon to scan through my recording folders and process all .mpg files, and the comskip.ini settings are assuming 30fps. HD mpegs require comskip to know that they are 60fps, right? Has anyone dealt with this problem?

Some HD MPEGs are 60 (namely ABC and FOX), 1080i (CBS, NBC) are 30 fps just like NTSC and it works fine on them.

Chris I have 2.55 installed also - curious...

Instead of filtergraph editor try this:

google for and download "RadLight Filter Manager". Its a simple Filter viewer/editor. It simply lists the DirectShow filters for you and should show the TS Info Parser in the list.

Thank you so much Stealth but I did download this tool and I dont see "TS Info Parser anywhere in the list. I did reinstall multiple times nvdvd 2.55. I also tried it with Nvdvd mpeg2 decoder v4.29 and still no luck. I wonder why is that.. I restarted my system multiple times to make sure any changes would take effect.

have no idea... and I always get this pop-up that I've described earlier.

Thanks

Chris

I'm not aware of a version 4.29 of the nVidia decoders, the newest version is 4.00.67 available in the 1.00.67 version of their decoder pack (OK technically Theatertek might have a newer version).

I unfortunatly had the same problem and my fix after days of troubleshooting including a format was to uninstall the older Nvidia codecs and install the lastest to expose the TS info parser. Aparently the older ones I was using block the TS info parser that is installed with NVDVD.

Thanks Stealth for the info. Please keep me update on how your testing of multiple cards goes when you get time.

I was trying different versions of the Fusion software to see if the different drivers could help with the audio processing errors I get. I thought I had it working with the 3.0RC1 drivers, but when I switched back to them at the end of my testing, I started getting audio rendering errors.

sage.PlaybackException ERROR -5,0x80004005

to be specific. Has anyone else seen this? I don't think this is the same as the audio processing errors.

Thank you guys, I did fix my problem, I uninstalled everyth nvidia driver that I could find. I also did search for nv*.ax on my C: drive and just renamed 3 files that seem like they were in system32 forder. Then I went to nvidia site and I downloaded 4.00.67 version. It seems like I am not getting this error anymore.

I will try to now configure the rest and see if I can receive any HDTV on that card. I am so exciting about this whole thing. Once again, thank you so very much.

I also did read about multiple HDTV cards, I've just ordered a fusion card. Would love to use them both at some point, but I just wanted to play around with them.

Thanks again for all your help.

Chris
