Constant recording

How do I set it up so that it only records the shows I want it to?
As it is, it clutters the videos folder with little fragments of shows that it records as I flip through channels.

This is how sage tv works (and all pvr Software) or you would not be able to rewind live tv ,these recording should disapear in about 10 to 20 mins after you finish watching them try reading the manual first before you post all the answers are in there

Thats the problem, they aren't disappearing after 10 to 20 minutes.
And i'm sorry, but I did read the manual and did not find how to do this.

If you are using Intelligent Recording or have the property seeker/clear_partials_and_unwanted_when_ir_off set to false, those live tv snippets aren't removed right away (see Appendix C in the manual for more details). However, they will be deleted when space is needed for another recording.
