Why not ? It's built-in into SageMC ...

Ok, I'm missing something then. Whenever I search for a show episode (from my imported videos) in sage...nothing comes up. At all.

Movies in Imported videos work fine.

Hi Necro,

please let's move this issue over to the SageMC thread, since it is really SageMC specific ...

I finally got around to troubleshooting my problem of not getting the cast or picture to show up. Sure enough, I had two subdirectories under net/sf/sageplugins, one of them was an IMDB directory. I deleted both directories and restarted Sage, everything works fine now.

Thanks for the info.

I know this has been asked before but it is the only thing I need to complete my Sage experience. IMDB save feature.... My WAF goes down the drain when using SageMC because she is used to the original STV layout, so even though that does have it I can't use it.
I just got ver6 installed with Dynamic menu and the IMDB plugins and everything is almost perfect.

The latest detailed info plugin will let you save IMDB info for imported videos if that's what you are looking for. But I have no idea if it works with v6... I haven't tried V6 yet...

Where do you see "detailed info plugin"? I can't find anything on it.

Wow I wish I knew about that a while ago, but alas it does not work in Ver6.
The menu looks garbled like two menu layers on top of each other and I also got a java file error.

I hope someone can do something similair for Ver6 soon.

Thanx for the info though jbuszkie

Bummer.. I was hoping it was just going to work..
But I didn't have too much hope...
I'll get around to fixing it sometime.. I just don't know when... I'll still have to get my upgrade license....

Has anyone noticed that with Ver6, IMDB search is not working because when it grabs the title from the Imported Video Library to search for, it also includes the path prefix thus screwing up the search string resulting in no results?

The Episode now provides the name of the imported video w/o the relative path.

Andy, you are speaking in riddles......

Which Episode might that be?
Is there a setting somewhere?

Maybe I should clarify.
Imdb search works with SageTV recordings which use the EPG title.

It doesn't work with imported videos for which Title = prefix\filename without the extension

Lucas: I thought it always worked like that! This is how it has to work to deal with folder structures like:
videos/category/showname/episodename
(doing an IMDB search by title for episodename will not find anything useful.)

Andy was indicating how it could be fixed, but this would require STV-editing...
I will get around to looking into it sometime: maybe it's something simple that changed in the beta...

I have to confess that I didn't catch on what Andy was saying.

In Ver5 and before if I had a path name (as it appears in the browser) say

Movies\DVD\Terminator and I drilled down to Terminator using the folder browser of SageTV, doing a search on that would just send "Terminator" as the IMDB search string.

With ver6 the string sent is "Movies\DVD\Terminator".

Obviously something has changed STV wise or something has changed in the way I use IMDB Search......

The former... the way the V6 vid lib works needs a slight change to the handling of titles/episode names for IMDB search...

Darn IMDB.. stop changing your format!! :-)

Looks like IMDB change broke the ability for the STV to display actor photo.. sigh :-)

I had noticed that as well, but thought maybe it was something screwy with my setup. Good to know I'm not the only one.
