Well, I was planning to go to bed. It's 4 a.m., but I couldn't go to sleep. I downloaded the manual for Studio. Looks really good! I can't wait to look at this all again tomorrow night.

The online store is still selling V2.2. Will there be an upgrade price or will we need to pay again?

Some of the various SageTV pages are still being updated, including the store. I would guess that SageTV will have more of an official announcement later today -- I just updated the forum info since the v4 release was made available on the main site. In case it was missed, though, the press release on the SageTV site is here.

Well for us that bought version 2.0 the upgrade to V3 was supposed to be free so I don't think the upgrade will cost anything for someone who just bought 2.2.

After all this has been the position by SageTV after the question was raised in the past.

This all seems like some kind of sick joke....

I cant believe Studio is finally released... As if I wasn't already busy enough, now I'm sure I'll have no free time at all...

hopefully it will include digital out, component (or other HD method out) and also be able to stream sage's TS files...i mean not much point in recording HDTV with DD sound if you can't play it back right

WOWWWWWWWW!!!

I just saw all the information about version 4 and Studio. I thought I was dreaming. Talk about dropping on bombshell. Im still not sure its really happening.

After all the debate and speculation its actually here. I never thought I would get to see or use this infamous application. I cant hardly imagine all the implications. If these forums were busy before, watch out.

Ahhhh who needs sleep anyway. There will be lots of red eyes in the next few weeks across the globe
Better get both coffee pots going now.

This is like some of the coolest, funnest, best news I have got in a while.

My brother who is an ER doc has a saying for times like these: "You can sleep when you're dead." (Apparently, it is a popular saying amongst Medical students and interns.)

I'll be playing w/ Studio for the next few weeks and following his advice.

BTW, Wow! What a nice surprise even if the 4.0 jump had me confused and wondering if, somehow, I had pulled a Rip Van Winkle.

I'll bet you have. That was quite some feat of self-discipline not to spill the beans with all the disillusioned posting about Studio. I don't know of anyone who still thought it would be released to the public.
(Thank-you, BTW)
