One of the first things I did when I bought my house was to run coax and cat5e to the living room and bedrooms. I looked into using cat6, but it seemed to mostly be overkill. I have gigabit network cards and a gigabit switch and that seems to handle streaming video to SageTV Client without a problem.

If you really need the bandwidth of cat6, then wouldn't it be worth it to just run fiber instead?

Charter allows their Moxi boxes to network together.So there IS at least one set top box networked solution.Jason
