does SA or comskip work on HDTV files? I've been hoping to drop cable and go to OTA digital tv, and it would be nice to have the comskip type feature.
thanks!

If you tell Sage to record to a Program Stream then yes SA or comskip should work. I believe there was a post somewhere about how to tell Sage to do that.

I have followed Farmboy's excellent tutorial on installing this stuff. But is only working partly for me i'm afraid.
I have installed showanalyser and Dirmon. I have set-up dirmon the same as the provided example. When running showanalyser manually, it is detecting the commercials fine for the one file i selected.
When looking at dirmon's status, it appears ok, it is checking every 10 minutes in the right folder, but is has only reported to be searching for 'orphan targets' but finds none and goes to sleep for another 10 mins.
I have also imported nielm's plugin and the files i scanned manually with SA are nicely shown in SageTV, with commercials as different colors in the time bar. So all of that is working fine.
It appears as though dirmon is not seeing the new files and/or not starting showanalyser on the new file.
Can anyone help me find out what i have done wrong?

Can you post your dirmon.ini so I can look for any potential problems?

Hi Jere,

I have gone back to an earlier restore point for Xp and installed dirmon and showanalyser again. Set it up following the same guide......and, go figure, now it works!

It took a while to work to all of the files not analysed before, but it is done now

Thanks for your support, but it appears to be ok now.
