No display?

SageTV trial was working fine when I first got it... now I have been focusing a bit more on the guide, and it seems that now more times than not, if I try to view the live tv, I end up getting a completely black screen with audio...

Why is there no picture?

Yep!!! I just posted the same problem ... Will move here ...

I have another issue with playback ... LiveTV or Recorded ...
  1. Start Playback
  2. Either at Full Screen and Toggle to Window or
  3. At Window and Toggle to Full Screen

Video goes black and audio continues ... Toggling back does not fix ...

It does not lock up Sage or the System.

The only way out is Toggle to Window and right click Sage in the Task Bar and Close. Or more easily keep punching the Stop button on the remote until you end up back to the Main Menu??

So ... Any Ideas??

Thanks, T.

What have you changed since it used to work? Did a) you change settings in SageTV (3D Acceleration, video renderer or decoder, etc), b) install a new video card driver, c) update DirectX, d) change which monitor/TV that SageTV is displayed on, or e) something else?

It almost sounds to me like you are using Overlay as your renderer & moved SageTV to a secondary monitor or TV. Not all video cards and/or decoders work properly on a secondary monitor in Overlay mode.

If the video plays sometimes & not others, then Overlay probably isn't it and maybe the problems are related... are you both using Full Screen Exclusive mode? If so, how does it work w/that disabled. If that works, I'll leave it to others to troubleshoot FSE.
