Re-order "Pop Up" menu?

Can the order of options in the pop up menu be changed in Studio? After the first option of "Cancel", I'd like "Program Guide". Right now it's 4 or 5 down.

Thanks,

P

Edit: The menu I'm talking about is the one you get by pressing "Select" twice while watching live TV.

Yes, popups can be reordered. In Sage, bring up the popup you want to edit and then press Crtl+Shift+F12 to open Studio. You should see a balloon called OSDOptions highlighted. Double-click to expand that, then expand the panel called OSDPanel. The options you want are under If IsTVFile. Rearrange those options as you like using Ctrl+U and Ctrl+D, or move the whole If up or down the same way. To see your changes, cancel the popup and reopen it.

When you're done, use File > Save As to save your changes to a new filename. Do not overwrite the standard STV, or you'll lose all your changes the next time you upgrade. (Plus if you mess things up you'll want something safe to go back to.)

WooHoo! Thanks GK! I use JB's "Mini-Guide" for my Guide button, and the menu for the full program guide...this will speed things up a bit.

Thanks again,

P

You could also edit the properties file and change this line to false:
Cayars/bind_mini_guide=
Then the Guide button will bring up the full guide and either the up or down arrow will bring up the mini-guide. This way there is no need to re-order the pop-up every time you upgrade.

If you do re-order the pop-up and even if you "save as" you will still have to re-do the pop-up any time Sage make a change to the default STV and Sage makes changes in the default STV quite often.

I don't think that I fully understand this. If someone could clarify for me, I would appreciate it. I would think that it would work like this: I open Studio, make the changes I desire then save as whatever. I'm thinking that this would save the whole STV with my changes and then I would have to select the new STV to use that. The way I'm reading Gkunick's comment above, the program would somehow read those changes from the new file, and that those changes would still be available after an upgrade. That would be great, but I don't understand how that would work.

Any help will be greatly appreciated,
MBrew

It doesn't work like that... what he meant was that installing an upgrade will overwrite the default STV file (SageTV3.xml), so if you saved your changes there, you would lose them after upgrading. Plus, you would lose access to the original STV & couldn't revert back to it or refer to it if you made a mistake while editing.

BTW: changes you make in a custom STV will not be incorporated into the default STV when you install an upgrade, but you don't want your changes overwritten, or else you'll have nothing to refer to if you want to apply your changes to the newest default STV again.
