Like I said, no guarantees
IVL won't work (probably) with the older version from SageMC. I'm somewhat surprised that the newer version doesn't work with SageMC. |

BUT-you should do a release if you have the DVD cover copy working. You can figure out how you want to proceed some other day. Gerry

OK-did some more testing.
I don't know what happened the first time around but your ProDVD2Sage DOES work fine with SageMC. I think I might have been trying to do too much at once. But it works fine now. Don't know if you've seen this yet: My early work But I may be taking your IVL and making some mods for this STV. Maybe I can help you with some graphic design work. A programmer I'm really not. Sorry I didn't report back sooner. 2 things appear broke.
1. Cover copy-Doesn't happen. Here's what I have in the properties file: stanger89/CopyImages=true stanger89/ImageRoot=C\:\\Program Files\\Intervocative Software\\DVD Profiler Beta\\ stanger89/LibraryGroupMethod=Filesystem stanger89/ProfilerImageLocation=C\:\\Program Files\\Intervocative Software\\DVD Profiler Beta\\IMAGES\\ stanger89/ProfilerThumbnailLocation=C\:\\Program Files\\Intervocative Software\\DVD Profiler Beta\\IMAGES\\THUMBNAILS\\ Plus I also have this: mlbdude/meta_data_collection.xml=C\:\\Program Files\\SageTV\\SageTV\\STVs\\SageTV3\\SageMCE\\collection.xml 2. Rips that I have a folder.jpg I put in there manually don't show up. So I have 3 rips done after your last version. I used the newest version. I rescanned the media files. I then performed an import. Show info shows but the cover doesn't and I reverified folder.jpg is in the VIDEO_TS folder. Gerry

Though since fixing that doesn't seem high on the priority list, I put a fix (aka workaround) in just now. |

From your latest version in my log file I'm thinking this is the issue:

I think that takes care of it. I was trying to duplicate it but it works here (of course I had an extra ',' in my DebugLog()'s for saying it copied the file so that's what the 's are for. Anyway, have you checked the DVD Profiler directory to make sure those images are there? OT (maybe, maybe not) I see you've got it in "DVD Profiler Beta", so you're running the beta version? Is there anything neat in it? Oh the "\\" aren't a problem. |

Everyone it says it can't find is right there in the directory. I removed the trailing \\ from the Imageroot setting and so it looks better now but it says it still can't find the images and they are there:

I can paste this:C:\Program Files\Intervocative Software\DVD Profiler Beta\IMAGES\THUMBNAILS\031398187899f.jpg in the Explorer address bar and it will bring up the image. Gerry

Unfortunately none of those really help me other than to say that IsFilePath() is returning false for that path, so that means Sage can't find it. You're not running an extender or anything weird are you? |

Nope. BUT! I am running this on a client and not on the server. Does it matter? (I run Sage_MC that way-DVD Profiler is on the client. I run the import and everything on and from the client. Everything shows up fine on the server and all the clients.) IS that what's causing the issue? Because I'm running everything on the client. (I don't want to do my DVD Profiler work on the Front room TV.)

IsFilePath() operates via the server, so the path is relative to the system where the server is running. If using UNC paths or mapped drive letters, this API is perfectly fine, since both the server & the client are using the same path to get to a file. That's probably why it works on your client, but not on gplasky's client. java_io_File_isFile() should be used if you are on a client, if you want to check files local to the client. Essentially, decide where in your code you want SageTV to access files that are local to the current UI & where you want files to be accessed via the server. Use java_io_File_isFile() for all local file access & IsFilePath() when you want to make sure that file access is relative to the server. This type of change will be in the next release's default STV. If you need a whole series of API calls to check for local vs. server based access, maybe we should have that discussion in the Studio forum. Edit: the SageTV file access API calls operate based on the server; the java_io_File_xxx calls operate locally. - Andy

That would do it. I'll probably change it since this is a maintenance function and needs to check local availablility (since that's where my Java code looks).

Love to Help !!
Hi :
I'm fairly new to the Sage scene but Am running it on a dedicated HTPC in the living room & this is just what I'm looking for. Tried several "other" front ends because of their superior DVD / Movie display & playback abilities, but the pains of switching back & forth to Sage made them unworkable... Especially with the WAF. SO Stanger89... Tell me what I need to do to help test this puppy!!... I'm currently running the latest beta of Sage, No clients, not running the service & am just running the satndard Sage interface. I'm also a registered DVDProfiler user & have our entire DVD collection (200 + DVDs) ripped to Hard Drive Storage. Also Gplasky Thanks for the Excellent Info on the NVIDIA Tuner Cards... I've got 2 on the way to replace my 500s so I can finally get rid of that nasty audio stutter every time we change channels!!! Looking forward to helping out however I can !! Bruce |

I posted a new verion in the downloads section. Includes image copying with the new java_io_File_canRead instead of IsFilePath. That plus added a setup screen that allows enabling/disabling image copying and browsing for the XML file. Should make setup a bit easier now.
Oh, and I've actually included DVDPro2Sage in the latest version so you just need to extract the zip to the SageTV directory Last edited by stanger89; 04-15-2006 at 01:35 PM. |

Flawless. Nice job. You might want to get rid of the 0.5.3.stvi in the root of your zip though. It works great for me. Now I'll actually wait until the next version release and incorporate IVL into my Circle theme. Gerry
