I just spent the better part of last saturday putting a fresh MCE install on this box as I thought it would be better than XP PRo for this sort of thing. Guess I was mistaken. I'd sure hate to go through all that codec hell again anytime soon.

We need to get someone in a more official capacity involved as I suspect that the devel was running XP Pro on his machine when he coded it and (reasonably) assumed it would work on an XPMCE pc as well.

HELLLLP?!

I found the same problem thats why currently I'm using Hip. It has the advantage of allowing all buttons to be reprogramed including the green button. The one disadvantage for me is that I still have to figure out how to put the computer to sleep with the power button.

I was using HIP, but it seemed very slow to respond at times. Especially when playing back a video or the computer was under fairly heavy use. Could just be my particular setup though.

At this point in the game, since SageTV now supports this remote I see using HIP as a workaround and unecessary. Fixing the problem should be the goal here, not simply looking for a workaround.

... be sure to submit a bug report about it if you haven't already done so...

Well, I submitted an official request for tech support, will that suffice?

Done.

Might want to update the web site as it still reports:
"Thank you for submitting a possible bug for SageTV version 4."

Can't say I've ever noticed this but will look for it.

I agree but if they fix the green button I would still be using HIP since I wasn't able to reprogram the Play button to Play/Pause or the Pause button to TimeScroll like I wanted. So until this new functionality is added I don't consider it a work around. At least not for me.

That worked for me. The green button takes me to the home screen now.

Now for the request part:
Any way to allow the Play and Pause buttons to be programmable? I want to change the Play button to be Play/Pause and the Pause button be the TimeScroll command.

I got the same file emailed to me by them, but my Sage is bsuy recording til 10 tonite. So in the meantime I have a quick question.

Did you simply replace the existing file in the sagetv directory? or did you have to re-register the dll?

Any chance of mapping the pause button to play/pause instead of just pause? Its the only lingering issue I have with the MCE remote (because apparently the green button now does something -- I'll have to try out that file that was posted in this thread).

Actually how about just allowing both the play and the pause button to be reprogrammed to any command. I personally want the play button as play/pause and the pause button as Time Scroll. Until they are reprogrammable I'm going to use HIP which gives me that option. It's not perfect but so far it has worked for me.
