Also - the wiki link at the beginning seems to be broken - does the wiki no longer exist?
Yeah, that site is gone. Niel made a backup of all the old wiki pages, but someone would need to resurrect the SageMC pages and put them on the new wiki site, I haven't had the time to do that yet.

suddenly comskip not working on mvp

I upgraded to sage build 6.2.10.52 and sagemc 6.3.4 a few days ago. I noticed tonight that the mvp timeline doesn't show commercials as it used to. The timeline does show correctly on sage clients and place shifters and on the server. I am not positive this is related to the above upgrades, but it probably is.

I grabbed a few suspicious log entries from sagetv_0.txt:

Code:

Looks like there are a few funny things happening there ... some IMDB getImage problems and other sagemc comskip problems. I'm sure they're not related.

Any thoughts?

You either didn't extract the JAR files in the downlaod package and have an old sagemc.jar file, or you didn't shut down the server while extracting the new files. Just shut down the server and extract all files in the 'JARs' directory again, this should fix it.

I followed your advice, and it worked. Thanks, Dirk.

Third, has anyone got the email to work with gmail? When I go into the email screen, it's is empty, no left menu or anything. Also, do I need to restart the UI when I make a change to the mailaccounts.xml file?
This all sounds like a JAR file problem. Did you shut down the UI (or the server if using MVP / Placeshifter) when extracting the download package ? Try again, and if the problem persists then please enable debug logging and post the log file.

And yes, I am using the email with my Gmail accounts, works fine. Not sure if you have to restart the UI after changing the accounts file, I'd have to check the code.

Well, I think I shut everything down, but I did it again to be sure. The picture folders are there now, but the email is still blank and the speeding ticker still happens.

Here's the log file.

Thanks

Yup, sure enough. I just changed one of my movies cover to folder.jpg to test and that did it. Man this is going to be painful. Maybe I'll figure out how to use one big group and forgo all the cover renaming changes. Sage is not the only frontend I use to acess my movies, and renaming all those would mean a huge change.
Hmm, that's strange. I have my .jpg's named identical as the .avi file (both in same directory), and SageMC does nicely display that image. As it has done always in the past. So am a bit surprised to read it should be named folder.jpg.

Jan

Edit 1: but will have to check with that 'disable folders' option
Edit 2: if "Show Folder for single videos" is disabled, I get nice big pictures. If enabled, got the same pictures but now a bit smaller (as '1 item' is included as text). And I'm not using folder.jpg. Am I missing something here?
Edit 3 (final): hate it when this happens, just saw "Don't worry, this won't be necessary, it'll be included in 6.3.4b " and that's what I'm running. Sorry, but going through this thread is sometimes ...

Question How to set @email?

Sorry folks, but have been going through this thread to find how to set this new function. There is no setup button on the screen itself (as with RSS). Guess it will be bleeding obvious, but just can't find it - and do want to see if I can get this to work.

What needs to be done?

PS; the RSS feeds work, but if I select one I get "Error: Page Failed to Load". What could be the issue?

(God, a seperate group for SageMC would be great, than it's possible to cut this thread into SageMC subject pieces - it's not just to big to be used as 'manual')

Jan

By the way, again a great update !

Hi Dirk,

I've just noticed that in 6.3.4a if I press the delete key from the "Recorded TV" or "My TV" screens, the resulting dialog has the selection button reticule thinger on top of the yes/no text.

Here's a pic;

Must be going crazy ...

I got
My Movie
My Movie/MovieName/MovieName.avi
My Movie/MovieName/MovieName.jpg
My Movie/MovieName/MovieName.srt (sometimes)
and have My Movie directory included in Sage Video.

If I select My Video, I get for each movie the picture. If "Show Folder for single videos" is disabled, I get a nice big pictures. If enabled, got the same pictures but now a bit smaller (as '1 item' is included as text). See screenshots. So what am I missing

Jan,
Do you by chance have hidden files called folder.jpg in each folder?

Minor GUI problem. When looking at the Recordings screen the watched bar shows up fine even if the show is selected (as it always has), but if I go into a group, the watched bar doesn't show on the selected item. Have I got something messed up?

I think you need to either install Cygwin as per neilm's instructions for the webtext plugin or choose to use an external browser in the options.

Yep, mailcheck.jar, 15KB, 9/15/2007 1:58PM. I also have a mail.jar (347KB, 9/12/2007 9:45PM).

Also, I'm running Java 1.6.

Nope, did double check and I got in my file manager view setup "Show hidden files".

To test, I did rename a .jpg in zzz.jpg so it would be ignored. I rescanned and indeed, no picture displayed anymore for that movie. I did than an IMDB search and saved the picture from that movie, Sage did save this .jpg under the identical name as the .avi. After a rescan Sage displayed again the picture. So to me it seems that the .jpg is supposed to have the identical name as the .avi.

A bug ..

When your watching a recorded show and press stop, it'll stop the video and display the menu "Resume/Restart/Delete/Send to Archive" but if you press play on remote, it will resume playing the video but the menu still stay up on the foreground.

And if you press stop again with the menu up on the foreground it pretty much lock you out of SageTV playback (SageTV conitune to run but you can't access the playback anymore) that restarting SageTV GUI is require.

I do know now that you should select "Resume" on the menu instead of pressing Play on remote but it just force of habit to press stop/play on remote and when I see that the menu still up so I press stop again to try to get rid of it but I keep forgetting that it locks up SageTV GUI.
