New sage user having some problems
I just got SageTV set up and working the way I want it with a few exceptions that I can't figure out. The biggest issue I have right now is that I put my computer into standby with shows scheduled to record a couple of hours later, and when I return to my compter the next day I have playback errors and sage just sits there-blank. I have to then close and restart Sage. The two shows, however, were recorded fine.
Another issue I have is that I'd like to be able to enter just the digit or digits of the channel I want to change to. Right now I have to enter a zero or 2 zeros then the digit(s) for the channel to go to. Is there a way to modify this? The last issue I have is with fast forward and rewind on recordings and live Tv. There are 3 pairs of choices in the Detailed Setup that involve FFWD and RWD. They are: Skip Fwd/Page Right, Skip Bkwd/Page Left Skip Fwd #2, Skip Bkwd #2 Smooth FF, Smooth Rew I've tried them all and the only ones that do anything for me is the Skip FWD #2 and Skip Bkwd #2. I have them set to 30 second skips, but what I was looking for is something that would allow me to hit FF or RWD once and it act similiar to that of fast forwarding a VCR or DVD. As a side note I had problems with memory and handles, but I read some things in another post and I tried rolling back a version of JRE and that seemed to fix it (handles are steady). I looked at the memory and Handles when I had the Playback errors and they were at something like 44,000 Kb and 753 handles. I'm using v5 with a USB-UIRT and logitech 659, Sagetv decoders. I tried using Purevideo, but that just gives me stuttered video. I've been reading about that issue too, and it seems there might be with an issue with Nvidia video cards? I have the 7900GT. I found something to play around with for the FF/Rwd issue, but still looking for responses on the other.

Several comments:
First - regarding the problem with having to enter 3 digits, you should be able to enter just one digit (ie: channel 4) and just press the SELECT (enter) button on the remote. Two - I'm not sure if you have just one computer running Sage and Sage control and if so, don't put the computer in standby. It's okay for Sage to go into standby but I would not put the computer in standby. Also, I don't know if you have Win 98 or xp, etc. One of thing things I really love about Sage is I have SageControl on my server so that all TVs in the house record all shows to the same computer.
