nielm,

Thanks for the info. I installed the plugin a couple days ago, and it worked FANTASTICALLY! Just what I needed. It seems that my original concerns are now greatly simplified, now that I understand how SageTV does things.

Quick tip to everyone: Be very careful when using on-the-fly partition re-sizing applications to re-size your partitions. One screwup, and....well...just be sure you have a good backup...otherwise, you'll be spending several hours last night re-building everything...ahhrrrggghh!

All live TV recording stops, and SageTV's screensaver comes on. (Turning the TV "off" is, of course, up to the viewer.) When you later want to resume using SageTV, press the power button again, and you the Home screen nicely comes up. Sweet and simple. Note that I opted for this method instead of pressing the "Stop" button (which brings up the EPG) because I don't know how things will be affected if I install the Stop enhancement plugin. Pressing "Power" seems to be the best solution.)
I use the Logitech Harmony 720 universal remote. I use a "Watch SageTV" activity that I programmed and when I'm done, I hit the power button... Problem solved.
