Is this it? I set it to my servers IP and the Mini still grabs the other IP of the server.
Yes, that should be the one you are looking for. Set it to the IP address of the NIC you want used on your SageTV server.

Make sure you are doing this while SageTV and/or the service is not running at all. Restart SageTV after setting the property.

I have already done a hard reset on the MVPs. Which STV or XML file should I be using?

A side note...this new version is stuttering like crazy, even with only one MVP running.

The default STV is the same as before: SageTV3.xml

BTW: SageTV3.stv is obsolete & is no longer included in the installer. If it still exists, then that means it was thre from a previous installation & you can get rid of it.

I am hearing audio pops on the MVP now... Like what others (including me) were seeing (hearing) with the "alpha" mvp.bin for version 5. Happens even in the menu system with no video going.

Imported videos - all are 0 length !?!

Hi,

Just installed the new v6 - everything seems to work OK, compression works great...
But all my Imported Videos are 0 length - so I can NOT skip FWD or REW (play/stop/pause works).
Tried restarting, tried reimporting & rescanning - the same.

Any ideas? Should I report a BUG?

Oren.

Now I know that most of you are using Windows, so I'm not sure how many of your are familiar with FrontRow in OSX, but I think they have a great approach of how to navigate through your media files there. I believe I read somewhere that Studio now supports flash correct? Would we be able to create an experience like FrontRow in Studio or would something like that need to be integrated in SageTV itself?

This is the most awesome list of new features I have ever seen.
I can't pay for the upgrade just yet, but I will ASAP.

This is one of the items that was supposed to be "fixed in the next release." Unfortunately there is no Bug Fix list which makes paying for a beta even harder.

Whatever you do, DO NOT START PLAYING WITH THE GOOGLE VIDEO FEATURE. I can see the missus being sat in front of it for hours! Me too!!

Seems its not nearly as bad... Heard it twice so far, it seemed much worse previously as I reverted back to the old one almost as soon as I tried it. Hopefully this is fixed by the end of the beta.

Did you also implement the MHW (Media Highway) EPG protocol used by C+ (formerly Sky) broadcasters in Europe? For who doesn't know it, MHW-EPG is an high speed stream of EPG data transmitted over a particular transponder for each broadcaster, usually a 7 days EPG.

Also I second a request that has been already made by dozens of people so far: is there any plan to implement MD-API support into the DVB-S core? I'm sure it would make it the best HTPC program ever and most of us would be more then happy to pay double the fee. If there is no plan what about implementing some sort of core support and make it happen as an external STVi?

Thanks!

Folder view of media library no longer merges root folders

With 3.5 TB of data spread out over 7 disks on 4 different computers/nsa boxes it is absolultly necessary that the root folders merge like they did in all other releases. My library sturcture looks like this:

\\NSA01\OnMedia01\My Videos
....New
.........DVDs
..............Films
..................(genre)
..............Television
..................(genre)
.........Films
..............(genre)
.........Television
..............(genre)
.....Online
.........DVDs
..............Films
..................(genre)
..............Television
..................(genre)
.........Films
..............(genre)
.........Television
..............(genre)
\\Computer1\OnMedia02\My Videos
etc

You get the idea. Am I missing something. This is a deal breaker

My 3+ TB of recordings took about 10 minutes to start up the first time. I was expecting much worse!

The upgrade looks great, I'll be on it soon.
One question...

Does the archive command actually archive recordings? Is it easier now to maintain recording information when its moved from the recording folder to somewhere elese?

Okay thats 2 questions...

Was just coming to comment on this.

The music browser, aside from the serious need for an overhaul of the buttons on the left, is close to workable. Customizeable browsing via whatever tags a user wants to setup is definitely going to be needed in the future for this to make the most people happy - similar to what Meedio had. Meedio had no problem browsing my 11,000 mp3s...unfortunately it seems this version of sage is extremely slow to browse similar to 5.

The video browser...is completely unworkable in its current form where it doesn't merge folders. This is a must for me, as mentioned above. I love the grabbing a screen cap from the video though, thats great and will be useful in extensions.

I feel like things didn't go forward or backward on the media browsing/usability GUI front. Important thing to note here, is that it went this way out of the box. Many users are going to want an out of the box solution and not have to do customizations (as I'll use) to get what they want.

I like many of the other updates though, even if I'm not going to get a chance to use them (media file support, etc.)

(BTW, I didnt cut the lawn tonight so I could try this out )

Ive got to say I agree with the others regarding the changes to media organization.

I think its a step backwards and for the life of me I dont understand who could think these changes were a good idea.

I suspect someone is going to have to write a plugin or something to fix the issues, otherwise I suspect that I will be flipping to meedio for my library as I cant find anything the way it is now.

Would it be possible to auto gen playlists? or even revert back to the old way of organizing media?

Once Again, Regret

Once again, I'm regretting staying on the bleeding edge with betas. Version 5 was ultra reliable - haven't had a hiccup for months. Now, video is stuttering - even when only one of our MVPs is powered on and in use.

Is this a transcoding issue? We're only watching recorded TV.

Agreed.... so where does the 5.1 support fit in? Perhaps accidental foreshadowing?

Archive is unchanged, this feature has been present for ages. Doesn't move anything, just sets a flag and prevents the file from being auto-deleted.
