New Version-Retro_33.xml

I've uploaded a new version and also fixed the download link in the Community Downloads. This is mostly a bug fix/comsistency issues.

Under TV
Movies and Search seem to be missing the shadow box.

Both screens now have shadow box.
Live TV playback header and timeline is blue, should it be gray?
Should be gray-and now it is.
Under Music
Music playback header and timline is blue

It is now gray,
Under DVD Playback
No DVD in drive message is blue (I am testing via place shifter)

Dialog box now gray and shows correct button style.
Under Videos
IMDB searches are missing shadow box

Shadow box is now there.

Couple other changes based on Morgan111 suggestions
Removed no-focus boxes for Videos, Music and Pictures.
Also tried to enlarge covers.
System info now indicates version of SageMC and Retro

More to come. Check out first post for new images.

Anyone have an idea as to why this stv won't load on my machine? If I try to load retro22 or 33... it spins and then reverts back to my previous stv which in this case is sagemc-1.xml.

I've tried loading it in studio and by turnning everything off and editing the config. If I load it in the config it jumps back to SageTV3.xml.

This theme is intended for SageMC and not for the stock STV delivered with Sage.

Retro Theme and STV for SageMC

I believe this is why you are having trouble installing it.

This is based on SageMC, yes! But it is its own stv with its own xml. Either way I have been running SageMC for about as long as I can remember. I haven't run the stock STV since MLB first released SageMC originally a long long time ago.

Thanks!

I see you are using SageTV 5. I think Gerry based this STV off the v6 version of SageMC, and v6 STVs can not be loaded into a v5 installation.

You could try to open the STV file in a text editor and remove all occurences of

Code:
 <BackgroundComponent>false</BackgroundComponent>
and

Code:
 <AutoRepeatAction>false</AutoRepeatAction>
Can't guarantee you that this will work, but you might want to give it a shot.

Thanks Flachbar

Ok I feel dumb!! Reading back over it again.

Quote:
This was created with Flachbars SageMC16x9 6.13a STV for Sage 6. I would expect incompatabilites with much older versions or the last mlbdude SageMC
.

I guess I read 6.13a and moved on from there! I guess I'll wait till I move to 6!

Thanks again!

Hi,

It will load and work on the latest V5 for me. From within sagemce I select the retro theme and then select the retro stv .xml. Problem is it wont stick if sage is closed. If I leave sage open or put it to sleep then no problem. So really it is fine as long as the machine does not crash .

HTH

First off, I love this theme. But I am having a couple of problems with it. The diskbar is white and I can't read the numbers on it. Second, the selection bar on the main menu is too long and covers the nice graphic to the left. Any ideas how to adjust these? If not, I can live with them but I won't know unless I ask.

I handle the long selection bar by shortening it to 80% of the original and then adding back that 20% on the left side as transparent dead space. It works perfectly. Your actual percentages may be a bit different depending on how close the graphic is to the menu text, but the approach is the same.

Aloha,
Mike

Hi I can't get this theme to display correctly, on the main menu, the menu items are displayed more centrally than in your screenshot and the cursor bar extends way to the left so it extends over the icon window.
I've tried adjusting left menu and right pane options but this doesn't change this portion of the screen.
I'm running latest 6 beta and have followed all the instructions correctly, I think !!

Any ideas as I think this theme is really cool.

I'll fix the diskbar graphic when I get a chance. You can fix the overlapping menu bars by going to the Detailed Setup-Sage 16 x 9 MC options-Visual-Left Menu Width and change it to something like 0.22 or whatever works for you.

Make sure you also go in and load the retro_33.xml STV in Detailed settings. And also make sure you're running Sage 6 beta version. You could have an issue using Sage 5. (See above posts)

I'm at a loss as to why it would display this way. This is not on a MVP, correct? I haven't tested that. You could load the regular SageMC 613a and choose this theme as a test. This would put the icon graphic all the way to the right, the retro graphic on the left and the menu just off center. See if that works and then switch. Did you actually install the original SageMC theme or run Jason's installer for the SageMC theme? You need to have the full original SageMC theme installed or use Jason's installer.

Hi Gerry,

I seem to be having the same trouble as i0zjh02 is. Could you take a look at the attached .jpg and tell me what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks!

I've taken a look and I can't reproduce it. What do you have the left menu width set for? And the right pane width? Defaults are 0.26 and 0.71. Make sure numbers and not letters are in there. I don't think everyone is having this issue. Are they?

Wait-you're using the MCE type menu? Does it happen using the Sage menu? I didn't test for the MCE style menu. If that's the case change it until I can fix it. Sorry.

Gerry

Gerry,

How exactly do I change to the Sage type menu? As far as I know, I didn't change any menu - I just installed SageMC 6.13a and took all the defaults. Is this wrong? Thanks for any help!
