I don't think its your imagination... I've had my MVP sitting at the main screen the last 15 minutes and have yet to hear one. So if it isn't fixed, it is definetly better. I would always hear a beep at least navigating through the menu system.

Prior to 6.0.14 I was hearing the beeps louder and more frequent on my MVP. I must say that with the latest beta I'm not hearing the beeps as much but they do still be there only fainter. I will look into it more and report back if I find anything.

Well, that's strange. I did the same: updated on top of ver 6.0.13. The "ui/use_native_image_loader" wasn't in the sage.properties, even after starting and quitting SageTV. So I had to add it manually.

hebrew problems

When can we expect the hebrew problems to be fixed in this version?
There is a problem with hebrew filenames and creating thumbnails for them.

(also problem with saving recordings with hebrew nmes).
Sagetv is realy starting to take off in Israel, and we are all waiting for the hebrew support, to start creating a skin for it.

Another request:
Can you add (at least to the regular stv), a propertie, that determins direction (for BIDI towork, the flow of widgets is from right to left, so a mirroring of widgets should happen (aligned to the right, and RTL)), so that if I need to create a Hebrew (RTL) stv, I could change the propertie in the properties file, and then just add the translation files.
I know I can do it myself, but once Sage does it to the stock STV, its easier for all of us, especially since it should continue to other releases, and not have to change it every time.

no ui/use_native_image_loader= in my properties files either. Install over 6.0.13

Some other SageTV people that have been using it for a few days haven't heard it at all...and ones that didn't know it was fixed asked about it because they thought it was fixed since they didn't hear it...so we'll have to see what the jury (i.e. beta testers) have to say about this one.
Is this MVP.bin availible for v.5?

Not sure if this is just something weird that I'm running into or if it's a bug in the new version.

Anyhow, I tried changing a favorite from recording on "Any" channel to recording on a specific channel (that's not the one that it was currently set to record on)... I select the other channel and it simply takes me back to the previous screen with "Any" still selected...

Anyone else seeing this?

Usually what you are describing is caused by already having a favorite configured that way. Look for another favorite for that show which is already limited to that channel.

I hate to say this but I updated to 6.0.14 this afternoon and just got a loud beep from my MVP while starting to play a show.

Andy.

All this talk about beeping MVPs makes me think that mine is defective or crippled since it doesn't beep at all and never did!

I am wondering what other things on it are not functional.

I had noticed before when I blew away the clients directory for another reason and let it create a new one that other issues I had went away and the beep was less intense. It may be worth while to try the same thing in this instance.

Native Image Loader

Quote:
5. New Image Loading/Scaling system for thumbnail generation & Extenders & 3D rendering. Can be enabled by setting: ui/use_native_image_loader=true (this is still experimental and only on Windows currently, but it provides a major performance enhancement for media extenders and image handling)
What, excatly, should we be seeing with this? I put it on the server and all clients yesterday but have seen no improvement in anything, even the MVP performance.

Same here! I've never heard a single "beep" on either of my 2 wired MVPs. I guess we should consider ourselves lucky!

It only works for the moment in the server's UI and maybe in MVPs, not in remote SageClients...
If you have a folder with a lot (>20) of photos, try setting photo browser to a 4x4 grid and scroll a little: It should be much more responsive than before.

So last night I popped in a DVD and there was no audio. It worked with 6.0.13. I have not changed my audio renderer settings at all. DVD uses the same as multimedia. Nvidia video decoder and AC3 filter.

DVD works fine in WMP but not sage.

I did not try it with more than one disc, just wondering, anybody else?

Send a message via ICQ to Motofreak75
there is a problem with that new DShowPlayer.dll file. it breaks network encoder function when its waiting for file size "VF waiting for data to appear in new file...liveWait=498" etc... and I can see the mpg file growing is size, but the error log just keeps repeating itself. I have no choice but to use the the stock Dshowplayer.dll that comes with v6.0.14,

bug submit will be in the morning
