SageMC 6.3.9 is now available:

• Change: Shaded menu options now are Fan art Only (default), Always, and Never. (Choose Always for use with busy backgrounds where reading the text may become difficult.)
• Change: Rewrote fan art background support to utilize the Phoenix API. Placement of fan art with the media file is no longer supported. Fan art is expected to be located in a central folder with the following hierarchy:

• Added: TV series banner is shown in TV subgroup screen, if available.
• Added: If multiple fan art backgrounds are available, the background will cycle between them with user defined period. Transitions are animated (fade).
• Change: Added Intelligent Sorting to Recorded TV screen
• Added: Fan art can be displayed for non-recorded TV Airings.
• Added: Fan art displayed when item selected in Recent/Upcoming recordings widgets on Main Menu.
• Added: Context sensitive Fan art can be displayed in Guide, My TV, Recorded TV, and Archived TV screens when ‘Context Sensitive Fan Art’ is enabled under Global Display settings. Feature can be separately disabled in the Guide under the EPG screen specific settings.
• Change: Storage device popup now obeys the setting in "ui/notify_on_new_drive".
• Fix: Disable context sensitive fan art in My TV and Recorded TV screens.
• Fix: Recorded TV list not filling in completely, leaving gaps.
• Fix: Dock menu style menu item did not revert to unfocused size when dock lost focus.
• Fix: DVD Profiler searches included music with same title as video.
• Fix: Menu graphic display order issues
• Added: SageTV core subtitle support
• Added: Capture frame from video as fan art background. (Thanks EvilPenguin!) Note: does not work with DVD’s.
• Added: Sort video library by media file time stamp (‘Date Added’ sort option). Useful for displaying most recently added videos at the top of the list.
• Change: Made Compress option in Send To menu available to all transcodable video files.
• Fix: Video OSD Info Panel would sometimes take up full screen. Limited size to top 30% of screen.
• Added: Version check for phoenix.jar
• Added: If Movie and TV cover art are not found in the default locations, posters will be used from the central fan art folder (if available).

For automated downloading of fan art, use stuckless' Batch Metadata Importer. This utility will automatically store the fan art in the correct locations.

Changes for v6.3.9a

• Various fanart display bug fixes, including fanart backgrounds not filling screen and partially transparent fanart background issues.
• Fanart poster support in video library with animated transition between multiple posters, if available.
• Fixes media player starting up in live TV mode if entered through the back history with no media file defined.
• Added CC option in media player options menu for SageTV 6.5.13 Closed Caption support.
• Combined all fanart options into a single fanart configuration screen available under Global UI Options >> Display as well as in the options menus in the Video Library and Program Info Screens.
• Added options to enable/disable fanart posters in Video Library group listings, Program Info Screen, and Video OSD.
• Fixed broken tables due to features added in SageTV v6.5.13
• Added options for custom Recorded TV, TV Subgroup, Video Library, Music Library, and Picture Library screens to accommodate 3rd party plugins.
• Added option to autoscale fanart backgrounds and posters. (default=Enabled) Backgrounds are scaled to current UI dimensions and posters are scaled to 200px width.
• Changed 'Load STV' dialog to give the choice between loading the default STV or browsing for another STV.
• Added: System Messages screen and notification icons (requires SageTV 6.5.17 or higher)
• Fix: Using the Play command on music track did not update queue
• Updated Phoenix and IMDB Search jars to current versions.
