Hi Bob.

The option "Play Video When Opened" located under Options > General Parameters was off by default on my installation.

Was this the option you were referring to?

Thanks.

Yep that was it! One last thing I can find that you might try: disable_fse_on_focus_lost=false. Don't know that it will help but it does sound somewhat similar. Also you don't have the TVSuite installed as well as VideoReDo plus? Are you then maybe changing the TVSuite but the property entry you posted before was for VideoReDo plus? After that I'm afraid I'm out of ideas!

That last one provided some interesting results.

Sage didn't minimize.. but, following a screen flash (losing FSE?) I could still see the little VideoredoPlus icon in the bottom right corner blinking on and off (next to where the time/date would normally be)

Then the message came up in Sage telling me that the cut had begun.. and I could continue to edit, but I couldn't begin the process of actually cutting with VideoRedo until the first job had completed...

But, if I hit ENTER on my remote.. Videoredo Cancels.. which tells me that Sage is losing focus upon the job beginning. The focus goes to the little minimized VideoRedoPlus icon.

Wow.. confusing stuff.

Thanks for your continued support

David

That's what it sounds like to me too. I wonder if VideoReDo is actually trying to play in silent mode even though it is set not to. You might un-install it. Delete the VideoReDo folder if it still exists then reinstall it again. Then set up the options again. Shouldn't hurt anyway.

No luck!

Thanks Bob! It's not the end of the world having to toggle full-screen in order to get it to work properly. I'll live with it!

It sounds like it's a VideoReDoPlus bug.. There's no reason it should still be stealing the video focus.

Well it's doubtful that the new version will improve on it any. But I'm hoping the new version will help out with this. Now if I can just get caught up at work maybe I can actually finish it. Between work and hardware problems I haven't touched the code in about a month.

Would like to give this a try, but whenever I import the stvi Sage closes. I'm running v6.3.10 of sage and v6.3.7a SageMC. Any ideas would be appreciated...my brain is melted.

I will test this combination but am not able to do that until next weekend. It is possible it just isn't compatible. Sorry I can't get to it sooner - working too much - sorry.

I'm using SageTV 6.3.10 and SageMC 6.3.7a and Bob's Video Editing plugin imported and is working just fine so that shouldn't be the problem here.

Mike,
How are you importing this plugin? I ask because you said "importing the stvi" and you should actually be importing the xml file (the is both included in the download). If you use the default STV, then you import the stvi from the advanced page. If you use SageMC then you go to the SageMC settings page and import the xml file from there. You probably already know this, but I wanted to be sure.

I'm running this plugin on my SageTV server, but was wondering if its possible to execute the editing from the client PC, while the actual cutting and conversion happens on the server PC. Is this possible?

Not with the current version. At least not automatically. You could load and edit the cuts on your client and then load the videos on the SERVER and queue them up for processing. But you can't do this from a client with the current version. An exception to this is if you use an extender. Since the STV code for an extender runs on the server you can load this into your extender session and it will execute on the server. But you have to leave the extender active. You can't put it into soft power-off mode. If I can ever get out of overtime mode at work I will finish up the next version of the plugin and that WILL allow you to have a true client/server access.

Not a problem Bob. Thanks for the quick response!

And by the way, I really love this plugin - it's one of my favorites.

Since Brent has that combination and it is working I have a question. Did you use the following way to import this plugin?

If you select the "Import STVi" from the above menu it will display the XML version and will import correctly in SageMC.

I did try importing that way, and it crashed SageTV with no error message.

Brent: I did not know the difference and thought that might have been the problem when I read your message, but only the xml was listed...so I must have tried to import the xml.

Solution found: I extracted the files again from the zip, tried importing and it imported just fine. Perhaps I had a corrupt file or something. Thank you for the responses I did learn a few things.

Must have been missing a jar since a re-extraction worked. Glad you have it working too. I think in the next version I will add some code that will check to see if all of the jar's needed are present and display an error if it isn't. Don't know if that would have helped in this situation but it can't hurt.

Haven't used this plugin for a month or so (used it with success a month ago), but now when I try to begin a videoReDo job, it gives me this error:
Quote:
VideoReDo project file for O: \sageshows\CSICrimeSceneInvestigation 1416760-0.mpg NOT found!
This is after marking the commercials and viewing the mpg show within Video Edit plugin.

I'm doing something wrong causing it to not find something, but at a loss as to what to do to fix it. Any suggestions?

It looks like the path has a space in it after the "O:" if so that would be the problem. Can't say I've ever seen this problem but since I use UNC paths that might be the difference for me. I'll see if I can see a problem in the code. But a question: Was the project file created by my plugin originally or did you use something like ComSkip/Showanalyzer to generate it originally? NOTE I am making an assumption that you adjusted the cut points in my plugin and saved the new ones to a project file before runing VideoReDo so the project file was written by my plugin!

Comskip does its work on it first. In these instances, I've simply opened the recording in the Video Edit plugin, view the commercial cuts placed there by comskip and without making any changes to the cuts or anything tried to execute videoredo process - meaning it shouldn't be looking for a project file right? Thats when I get the error.

Strange thing is I had it working fine when I used it a month ago.
