You can also try my software (see signature), it should be painless to use and it features a native SageTV plugin for tuning channels (should work with service mode) and it also supports Windows Vista.

Stéphane.

I just installed StephaneM's software last weekend. I don't use blasters, but very easy to set up for MCE remote.

Anybody want to send me the Blaster portion of this?

I have been using Sagetray for awhile now with great results.

Hell if anyone has both latest blaster and sagetray. I have the first version that was made, but that doesn't work with Sage client too well.

PM please if you can help thanks.

Anyone have the SageTray app? I would LOVE to have it so I can make Sage start with the "Green Button".

I couldn't find this either, so I redid the modification.

Found this morning that it doesn't always focus the window properly. I'll update the download tonight sometime with a fix.

Just curious, are you guys using LMRemote add-in to control SageTV with your MS remote?

I haven't found the need to use it. The only thing that didn't work OOTB (after configuring Sage to use the MCE Remote) was launching Sage via TGB.

BTW, I just uploaded the updated application. Should resolve any focusing issues.

If you want IR blasters, it is a must have.

The Hauppauge IR blaster included with my HVR1600 works great.

Being a former MC user I had forgotten that it came with card, found it when I was looking for something else.

Posted SageTVLauncher - it handles input differently than SageTvTray so a larger group of devices should work. It also includes some additional features, WOL and additional button handling, that SageTvTray does not.

My MCE remote on Windows 7 and Sage 7 works reasonably well with Sage however there are a couple issues I needed to sort out and my search led me to this thread. I would like to be able to use the Green Button (for "Home") and the "Guide" button without launching MCE. Based on reading through this thread which I realize is old, it seems like either disabling MCE or installing a program to intercept the MCE commands are the alternatives. Is that correct or is there some new capability in Sage that makes those measures unnecessary?

Just go to the Cotrol Panel -> Programs and Features -> Turm Windows features on or off. Find Media Features (click +) -> Uncheck Windows Media Center .. and you're good to go.

MCE remotes work fine with no further programming or mapping.

Doing so will disable MCE. It sounds like he does not want to disable MCE.

Disabling MCE is fine... I just wanted to confirm that was the path of least resistance to getting full support out of the remote in Sage.

Thanks
