hi
hi i'm new to this software i have a 5.04 and no ideas of upgrading. i have a question how does this software work? i can't watch live tv without recording it?
When i watch an episode it is automatically recording why is that? it will take up much space is there a setting to not automatically record?

Yes, SageTV records shows as you watch them. One advantage is that this allows you to rewind at any point after you start watching it & you can choose to record & save the show after you've already been watching it for a while. In terms of disk space, live tv is usually deleted shortly after the show is over. Appendix C if the PDF manual talks about how SageTV manages disk space.
