I don't know how to program in my remote keys and I can't seem to find where it is spelled out?
Double click the blaster.exe program. Now take the remote for your set top box (cable box) and first highlight the number in the program (click on the number "0" so it is highlighted) and point the cable box remote at the MCE receiver and press "0" on the remote. It should have learned the code from your remote. Do this for all of your numbers and use the letters to learn channel up and channel down and the select for the select button. I'm not using the program but that should get you through that step.

I went through the same problems with the MCE remote for Media Center and the Haupaugge MCE remote and IR. I could get it to work only with the remote and IR that came with Windows Media Center. The remote that came with Haupaugge wouldn't work. I used HIP to configure the Ir to change channels on the TV set up box. It worked by following the steps listed in the link above. I found all of this on this post. http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...ht=mce+blaster Go to the 10th post by Steerpike. By following this post, I was able to get my MCE remote and IR to change channels in Sage.

Thanks Judy, I'm going to start over with the MCE PVR150 and try again.

I actually went out yesterday and bought the non-MCE version of the PVR150 and I still can't get it to change channels on the cable set top box in SageTV, though it works fine in the WinTV app.

To top it all off on the Non-MCE PVR150 the IR transmitter is so short it won't reach my set top box!! What's the use of trying to control your cable box from your computer if the cable box has to be sitting within a few feet of the computer??? I sent Hauppauge an email. I think the Non-MCE version is going back, well, hopefully, if Circuit City will take it back.

Oh, Circuit City was sold out of the PVR1600 which is the newest version for Windows Vista. I asked the older salesman about it...he said they weren't going to stock it anymore, that it wasn't going to be made by Hauppauge anymore? HUH?? I told him it was the newest latest released version and he said he knew that but didn't know what was going on?

I think I need some medication....

I don't use this tuner/blaster either, but just in case this helps: the Hauppauge IR blaster software has to be running when SageTV is started. And, SageTV can't set how the Hauppauge blaster works; it has to be set up via Hauppauge's IR blaster config program.

Then, when configuring the source in SageTV, the Hauppauge IR blaster should appear as one of the tuning plugin options when configuring the external receiver for that source.

.. and that's about all I know about that blaster.
