I merged your three threads on the same topic into one place, since they were really about the same issue and people trying to answer in one place would miss the details you've posted elsewhere. Example: the network info was previsouly posted in a different thread.

If you are asking for SageTV tech support, then you should contact support directly. And, enable debug logging on both the server and client, in case the log might have some clues about what is happening.

Well I took everones advice, and put a wired connection between my computers. Seems to have fixed the problem.

Gotta remind me in the near future when I finally build a house to have wired ethernet throughout!

There has gotta be a better alternative!

Thanks
Mo

Xvid issues continue

I have had the same issue since I started transcoding all of my favorites.

My system is set up as follows.

Server:
P4 2.4GHz (Dual core)
2GB Ram
1 Hauppage 250
2 Hauppage 150's
1 HVR 980 (Currently only used for analog)
4x300 GB SATA drives
Vista Ultimate

Client
P4 Celeron 1.8
768MB Ram
40 GB 7200 IDE drive
Radeon 9200SE
Using Purevideo decoder for MPEG2 and have tried stand Xvid codec and now am using FFdshow

I have tried overlay, and VMR 7 and 9.
I have tried disabling/enabling FSE and 3D.

Using the OSD in FFdshow I see that I am averaging about 3fps in the decoder using sage.

I am running a wired 100Mb switch with a hub being used only for assigning IP addresses.

Running MPEG 2, video is perfect.

Running Xvid over Sage from the server I get about 3fps.
Running the same file on the machine via Sage media player, I get 30fps
Running the same file over the network using WMP, I get 30fps.

Using latest release of Sage as of 4-20-2007 (I believe Sage 6.1.7) on both server and client

I think I have most of the important information. If there is anything I missed, feel free to let me know. This is my first post as I hate asking questions. I have been a sage user for about 4 years and have gained a lot of knowledge from this forum, but this one has had me stumped for about three weeks.
