"trying to reconnect..." after S3 wakeup
I'm having an issue with the WAF over a small thing. I have a client in the bedroom that always runs Sage in full screen mode. It goes to sleep and wakes up just fine, and very quickly at that, maybe 3-4 secs to wake up from standby.
The problem is that Sage wakes up so quickly that the ethernet interface hasn't come back up quite yet. So I get the "trying to reconnect" server message, and it waits for 10-15 secs before trying again. This delay is a problem. Is there some property that lets me change the timeout, or better yet, it would be great if sage would try once a sec for the first 5 secs of so, and then fall back to trying less frequently? It may be the DHCP server isn't coming back fast enough, which I could fix by static addressing if I had to do it that way, but thought if this was adjustable it would be a would be best. Thanks, Mike |

Make sure in your NIC properties that you don't have it checked to "Allow computer to turn off device to save power". You can still usually hit the back or exit and return to a functioning screen.

I had this problem with my XP client when resuming from standby. I tried setting the NIC to never go into power save, setting static IP's, etc.
With the same hardware running Vista, I don't have any connection problems.
