20080128 0 - Necessary?

I have now donw this three times. Downloaded and renamed the 12262007 bin file, held the ok and menu buttons while turning on the extender power, let go when the data light came on. Blinky blinky, comes up and I go to the firmware screen. and it's still on 1292008. My problems all began 3-4 firmwares ago, and I desperately want to downgrade before the super bowl. What am I doing wrong?

I'm not sure. But to reiterate the instructions, make sure you name the firmware file 'stx1000.bin' and put it in your SageTV directory. The extender needs to be off using the power switch in the back- you can't just use the standby button in the front. That's all I had to do to get it to work.
