Divx Recordings in ver 6?
Hey all,
First time poster but long time user of Sagetv5. I saw what I believe states that version 6 of Sagetv supports recording in divx. This would be a HUGE bonus for me because I usually stream my content to my windows mobile phone via www.orb.com. While orb does a great job compressing video, I'd rather have it in Divx to take up even less space on my hdds. I have a Hauppauge PVR500 if that matters. Thx. |

Are you sharing an account? It doesn't look like your first post.
Recording formats depend on what formats the tuner can create, or what format a digital stream is already in for digital TV. The PVR-500 cannot create Divx files. There is an option to convert existing recordings to other formats. This is done by manually choosing the option, or check out the customizations forum for possible automated conversions. - Andy

The new Hauppauge encoder will encode to MPEG-4 AVC, better than DivX.
