As for when its ready to autocompress, I'm pretty much in a holding pattern until Sage straightens up stuff on their end.
Well im dropping my videos on the Auto Encode.bat its doesnt make a compress log the only thing that is left over is a file with this name DesperateHousewives-TheresAlwaysaWoman-3988592-0.2_auto_encode.0.32.EncodePass_2.
That is 11Mb in size I will attempt to compress the same video again. see if i can catch a log this time.

Go ahead and open the autoEncode.bat file and add /saveLog to this line...

Code:
set COMMAND=
set DIRECTORY=C:\tv2pc
set MODE=
set PROFILE=Auto Encode
set SWITCHES=/saveLog
Sorry, its my bad for not setting that by default in the beta, i'll fix that tonight.

Wow, good call, I didn't even catch that that was the issue in that log file

I'm working on a fix to that issue that should also take care of my Unicode problems as well.

Here's the log for the video with the spanish track (desperate housewives), also on other video the last 5 minutes doesn't have any audio and when doing the auto encode batch file it goes through it and at the end says it cant access
GaryUnmarried-GaryMeetstheGang-4070348-0.2_auto_encode.0.32.EncodePass_2 file being used by another process. This is not limited to just this video it does this on all dropped on the Auto Encode.bat

Thanks for the logs!

As for the last part, I'm using a new method to capture my log files as well as print out data to the command window and for some reason, its not letting go of the file properly on the last pass of a mencoder encodes. I'm looking into it

Wrong audio

EP,

I am experiencing the audio problem too. Videoredo appears to always pick the 2nd track when there is ac3.... so does mencoder. The way I got around it if there is ac3 audio... I run it through mencoder copying the video and audio with the switch "-aid 129" This selects the correct audio. I ran a test without that switch and all i kept getting was the mono ac3 which is the 2nd audio track.

Code:

Cutting Videos

EP,
Any chance that you can show me how to edit the Cut Commercial Bat to cut the commercials without compression by dropping a VPrj file on it and then replace the original?

Also i need to change the VPrj file to an VPrjcut so i know that its already been done.
Thanks in advance,
Jet

Yeah, I've been avoiding dealing with multiple audio tracks for a while, hoping that the tools I use will be smart enough to pick the right track on their own. Sadly, it looks like that's not working consistently, so i'll put in some code that scans the audio tracks, picks the main one, and then explicitly tells the tools the proper one to use.

Can you expand why you want to do it that way? I just drop the mpegs onto Cut Commericals.bat directly.

yes, well I like the way you use VideoRedo to cut my commercials in this new plugin but since you were holding off on finishing the SageMC support till sagetv gets things fixed on their end and since there are a few bugs to work out on the current release I am currently cutting them by hand and letting your old plugin schedule and compress them after they are watched, but its getting hard to remember which ones ive cut. So i was hoping to get a batch file to cut the commercials after ive tweaked the vprj file, throw it back inplace, and then amend the extension to vprjcut so i know which ones are done.
Tell me if im not making sense. Thanks in advance,
Jet

I'll download handbrake and install it and see what happens

--------------------
I downloaded the latest and gave it a try, but I'm not understanding the error. It looks like it really wants to use Handbrake, which I do not have installed. I'd like the output to be avi.

Profile Question

EP,
Where do I add the switch to tell the Perl2dvd or Auto Encode.bat to output inplace. Also if i drop more than 1 video onto the perl2dvd executable or onto the .bat file will it queue them and if so what is the maximum amount of videos that i can drop at once. Thanks in advance,
Jet

HandbrakeCLI.exe should be included in the tv2pcbin folder.

Just add /inPlace next to the rest of the switches in the batch file.

You can drag up to 9 onto the batch file and only 1 onto the .exe. Also, bear in mind that the dragging onto the exe will always do an standard AutoEncode next to the original video.

Also, sorry for the slow development, my home office is completely filled with boxes, old furniture, and misc. junk so its basically unusable right now.

Ok, I get where you're coming from. Let me think about this for a little bit and see what i'd have to do to enable that.

My working theory right now is that something is going wrong in VideoRedo and its not copying over the audio after one of the cuts. You could even verify this by seeing if one of your commercial segments is exactly 2 minutes and 13 seconds long.

Also, are you using the latest VRD TV Suite?
