Are you kidding me...regressed? This must be harder than time travel. Every beta has had a problem, but 6.4 is so far off on commercial skips, it isn't fummy. Hey Tox, can you attach 2.0.19? I'm on the latest, but the same problems are there (replaying something already watched after a skip, random location playback after clicking on the timeline with the mouse, blackscreen after a skip, that a RW/FW fixes) uhhhhhhh.

A new MpeDeMux very soon

We are going to post a more stable MpeDeMux very soon, which is being tested internally. if no problem is reported on the forum, we are going add it into the 6.5 release as an optional module that user may pick.

That sounds great but is it also more accurate?

With the latest beta, since you went back to the 6.4.8 mpegdemux, I'm definitely having seek problems and Sage is crashing. However, ever since I added the HDHR I've had a lot of crashing problems. I'm not totally convinced that it's entirely a Sage/HDHR problem. I'll be building a seperate server this weekend so hopefully offloading my video processes to a separate PC will cure some of my problems.

The New MpegDeMux Ver. 2.0.1.30

http://download.sage.tv/users/qian/6.5.7/MpegDeMux.ax Ver. 2.0.1.30

A part of the code was rewriten, it's more efficient and accurate.
the problem of seeking lockup, the sound dropping off, and the "Frequent no video or sound issues" were fixed.

Please give it a try, Thanks!

It's more accurate, the PTS seeking precise control is under 100ms, the old ones is 400ms.

Still had some innaccuracies and while watching Criminal Minds live tonight it kept freezing and crashing Sage. Until tonight with the latest beta I never had an HDHR recording crash it was always the HDPVR recordings that would crash.

so I am back to .19

I get the spinning circle for a long time when I try to play a file. It will eventually play, but it comes back when moving around in the file.

I also had big problems with 2.0.1.30. Playback would start fine, but skipping forward would cause circle of death. Sorry, I didn't get a log.

2.0.1.30 is working fine here for SD, HDHR and HD-PVR recordings. Commercial skips seem to be accurate but still if it skips and I skip back it not the exact frame but within a second or two. (And I don't expect it to ever be perfect.) No spinning circles.

I watched Lost last night while it was recording off the HDHR and everything worked great, even skipping around. After Lost, I started up Damages from FXHD using the HDPVR as it was recording and it immediately went into the spinning circle with no response to any input. Had to kill Sage in Taskman to break free. Reverted back to an older beta demuxer.

Not that it helps much but I also watched a HD recording of Lost last night from my HDHR and had no issues and all and skipping around seemed to be very accurate. I also had watched one other misc recording and a little bit of live TV and had no issues at all but time will tell.

Actually, it was Lost from my HDHR that I was watching that I had problems with.

However, I also just switched my server recording directories from local paths to UNC paths, but it's still recording to UNC paths on the local server hard drives. I have a client server setup. I also tried to upgrade to SageTV beta 6.5.7 on my client before watching lost, and I had several stutters/breakups during the recording. A lot of things have changed in my setup the last couple days.

MpegDeMux log please!

Post your MpeDemux log please if you a trouble, we need a log to get a clue.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
To enable MpegDeMux.log
create an empty file "MPEGDEMUX_LOG.ENABLE" in sagetv directory, restart
sagetv. sagetv creates a log "MpegDemux.log"

Here is a snip of my log from last night around the time I was watching Criminal Minds and had the spinning wheel/crashes. At the end of the snip you can see where I reverted to an old demux.

More details about my setup:
Running Client Server setup running 6.5.7 recording UNC to local RAID6 on server
Almost everything is watched on a client at 1080p using ATI MPEG Video Decoder for MPEG/HDHR stuff and CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder (PDVD8) for HDPVR recordings all using EVR on Vista x64. The client machine is using an ATI video card.

I am running 6.5.6 still and I am wondering if a problem that I am having is related to the MpegDemux. While watching H.264 files if I skip forward either by pressing FF on the remote or drag the bar with a mouse I often get major macroblocking/pixellation. If I exit out of the show that I am watching and go back in it works fine. This doesn't happen every time but it happens at least 50% of the time and it didn't happen in the past - note that I recently upgraded to 6.5.6 and at the same time I moved to a WHS server and this playback issue is via SageClient.

Will the new demux file help with this issue?

No lockups and I can hold down the skip key and not lose video with 30, but the timing's way off on commercial skips for HD (I didn't try SD). The time's off -- going back and forth doesn't correct it.
I'm back to 28.

Would a log help track this or are timing problems a different issue.

The New MpegDeMux Ver. 2.0.1.31

http://download.sage.tv/users/qian/6.5.7/MpegDeMux.ax Ver. 2.0.1.31
http://download.sage.tv/users/qian/6.5.7/myasyncflt.ax Ver. 2.2.1.2

a hangup and crash bug was fixed in myasyncflt.ax.
a drop out bug was fixed in MpegDeMux.ax

the freezing and crash bugs was network related, it most likely occurs working with HDHR, especially in SageTV client.
