Hmm, it has CUDA support. Wonder if it will properly display interlaced H.264 from Dish network. I don't have an Nvidia card in my office, have to try this out later on my other clients.

Interlaced files currently fall back to software support and will be fixed in a future version. You'll also need 182.05 or better beta drivers, and obviously a video card that supports CUDA.

Did it happen at playing catching recording (near the end of green timeline bar)?

It was about 20-30 min into a 2 hour show (720p ATSC), where about 90 min was already recorded.

After the recording ended, everything was fine.

This new DeMux Ver. resulted in black screen and spinning circle for all TV. Using HDPVR's. Revrting to 2.0.1.36 fixed it right up.

These latest DLLs are causing a lot of stuttering in the video, previous versions worked fine.

I think MpegDeMux doesn't cache enough data to cover a PTS gap, that cause stuttering, I have an update here that exposes buffer size and buffer number settings in registry for tweaking.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Frey Technologies\Common\DSFilters\MpegDeMux
BlockSize(DWORD)=64
BlockNum(DWORD)=128
in default, 64K bytes a block , 128 blocks total.
you may change BlockSize to test.

Is there a downside to throwing a big number in there (like 256), besides memory usage?

Thanks

All,

I'm new to SageTV (was BTV) and HD-firewire recording. I'm trying to get SageTV MC to work with firewire on Comcast/Motorola DCH3200 box. I was struggling with the skip fwd/rev not working. These new filters (ver.2.0.1.39) seems to have fixed this problem . I wish I had seen this thread a couple weeks ago!

Are the values you stated in decimal or hex? I'm guessing decimal.

Thanks

The new version seems to be working well for me thus far. Did a quick test with HDHR, HDPVR and nVidia dualTV tuners this morning. Even went so far as to jump forward and back during each recording (live TV) repetitively about a dozen times.

I take it these registry values replace the previous numbuffers and buffersize entries?

On a side note, would I be very far off if I assumed ever Sage tweaker out there immediately doubled the listed values in their registry like I did?

I wonder about this too! I put in the two latest files and I don't see the options listed in this thread in my registry.. I stopped Sage, put in the new files and restarted sage.. I still see the same entries in my registry as before..

PS.. for x64 users.. this is in the wow6432node under the hklm/software setting.. at least that is where I'm looking!

I think you need to add these settings. That is why he is telling you they are a dword.

.38 and .39 would cause me a problem on the HD200. I could watch one video (tv recording, dvd, etc.) all the way thru. Skipping and everything would work fine. When I went to play a second video (tv recording, dvd, etc) I would either get a black screen, spinning wheel for a couple of minutes then I could get back to a menu or it would actually throw up a Sage Exception dialog box on the screen. Which I though was weird since everything is done on hardware. If I rebooted the HD200 I could play any first video but subsequent videos would have the issue. I went back .35 and haven't seen the issue. With .39 I added the dwords and ran it at default (64 & 128) and notched it up a bit (96 & 160). Same issue.

I'm confused....does the sage demux on the server somehow effect an HD200? I stopped paying attention to this thread when I went to an all HD-200 setup (no client HTPCs). Should I be paying attention again?

I am curious about this myself. I think the answer would be yes. How else can you explain why the HD-200 will play some BD rips perfectly in Media Extender mode that it won't play without stutter in Media Player mode?

There has to be some processing that is handled differently between the two modes.
