Can't get all NZ channels

"Scan For Available Channels" only went through 11 channels and found 6.

I don't have Freeview or Sky, just analog fta, and I'm in Auckland.

Here's the source setup:
- Device: Happauge PVR USB2 AVS Video Capture
- Input: TV Tuner
- Tuning option: Use Tuner on Capture Card to tune Antenna/Broadcast
- Program Guide: Do Not Use Program Guide with this Source

Thanks for any help.

The in-built channel list from Microsoft only has first 11 channels in it. Doubleclick on the tunerak.reg file from this zip and restart SageTV. It will allow you to scan for all the missing channels and will put them on the correct channel number.

Thanks. Tried that out and it didn't work. Same outcome: still only scanned through 11 channels. I've attached the registry screenshot for the resulted keys.

I'm using SageTV 6 btw.

That registry looks fine. You restarted SageTV, after the registry import?

And check that your location in "Regional and Language Settings" of XP is set to New Zealand

Yes I restarted SageTV. Even removed the source and added it back in, and went through the config wizard to make sure "New Zealand" is selected.

And yes the "Regional and Language Settings" is set to "New Zealand" as the location.

I've attached the channel scanning results, and here are the 11 channels:

1 = TV1
2 = TV2
3 = TV3
4 = Prime
5 = some sky channel
6 = blank/snow
7 = TV3
8 = blank/snow
9 = C4
10 = blank/snow
11 = blank/snow

It's been a long time, but it's coming back now.

Don't worry about the channel scanning. What you need is an EPG source. You just specify the channels in the EPG and they will appear in the channel list.

Let me know if you need any help with getting an XMLTV EPG source running.

OK where do I start?

And do I really, absolutely *NEED* to get this " XMLTV EPG source" running in order to have full list of channels working?

I was thinking if it's enough to just manually edit those frequencies in the registry and if so anyone know where I can get a list of frequencies for Auckland?

Found the solution - when adding the source instead of "Tuning option: Use Tuner on Capture Card to tune Antenna/Broadcast" choose "Use Tuner on capture card to tune Cable TV".

I've stuck most of what you need in a zip file.
Shut down SageTV
Unzip the getepg.zip file into the directory SageTV.exe is installed in ie: C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV
Download http://www.apache.org/dist/xerces/j/...-bin.2.9.1.zip and put the files xercesImpl.jar and xml-apis.jar in the SageTV\JARs directory
Run getepg.cmd to download the XMLTV formated EPG
Edit Sage.properties and set this property
Code:
epg/epg_import_plugin=xmltv.XMLTVImportPlugin
Start SageTV
Setup the tuner with XMLTV Guide data
Not sure which order these next two come up in.
Local Broadcast
Use Zip code of 0000
Select EPG of "Over the Air"
Done
Schedule a task to run getepg.cmd daily

Only if you want to do anything other than timed recordings.

All the frequencies are the ones listed in the registry file.

I updated the zip in the previous post with some properties files that should actually work. For the bandwidth challenged here are the updated files.
