It's not a network share. The drive with the mkv files is a local drive to the sage server machine. I ran some tests on the drive with sisandra, and it does substained reads > 80 MBytes/sec. The network is only a 100 mb/s ethernet, but that should be more than sufficient.

I'm running a gigabit network, even on that I was getting stuttering. For me I think it was the HD100, as the problem is gone. Though I could never find out for sure. Then again I only got stuttering on one file. I certainly have to say that the HD200 is faster than the 100.
