Have you done a channel scan yet? If not, and this is a digital tuner, then SageTV has no tuning info to work with.... so perform a channel scan.

If you have already scanned, then I guess I would suggest filing a bug report because previews should work & SageTV would probably want to see what is happening.

Thanks. I certainly did do a (number of) channel scan(s).

Sigh, another bug to submit. Wish it was easier to collect logs/etc...

For now, you might want to stop the preview (use the Stop command) and press Play on the next channel you want to preview.

I'm having worse problems with preview (in source setup): sometimes channels that I know are there won't preview; sometimes they will preview, but with obviously the wrong channel, which will "stick" when I try to preview other channels. I don't see a "play" vs. "preview" option in the source setup screen, so I'm not sure how to do what you describe. I'd just installed 6.5.20 in hopes of improving my scans & remaps on my QAM tuner (Hauppauge 1600).

Update 7/20/09: I sent in a bug report and was told it had been fixed for the release build. Hope it comes out soon!

I am having the same problem with previews as VCRUser.

I also just filed a bug report for an HDHR channel that refuses to work in Sage but works fine in VLC viewer. All my other channels from HDHR are working.

Thumbs up

Andy,

I'd like to say a big Thank You to you and to the testers on this thread for the channel scanning enhancements. Comcast moved the local Fox HD channel recently. I ran your new update scan and it fixed it without any further intervention from me. That was so nice compared to the manual steps that used to be required. Thanks!

I want to echo jreichen's comments. This was a great change and I don't think it's gotten the attention or praise it deserves.
