I have business class roadrunner. I host my liquidninjas.com site from it. I get 768k/2048k. I have no problems getting data from Zap2It.com manually, or anywhere else really. I dont know why Sage is having problems. Is it the sage server?

S

Some screen shots:

First, I only selected like 10 channels. Out of the 10, only about half of them got populated this time.

Heres System Information. It shows the 0 minute next guide update. (for just 10 channels it should have worked).

I completely uninstalled, deleted, and then reinstalled twice last night. The guide just doesn't come in. I have reinstalled every driver and device at this point. I installed WinTV which runs fine. There's just something goofy, and Im out of ideas.

The weird record conflict went away when I added the right channels back though.

It dosen't have any thing to do with driver or device Player0, Something is caused your connection abort the download of guide data.
Maybe your routor sever is causeding the problem.

Well, do I need to have any specific ports open on the firewall?

Not that it would make sense, since I still get partial data.

I dont have anything to trouble shoot however. The network seems to be fine, everything else works. Every other website works. If I knew more information about what it was trying to connect to, I could test something.

If theres a reason that this software doesn't work on my network, I'd need some more information, since everything else does work.

I think its more likely a bug with Sage. Just something in the configuration of my machine/network it doesn't like.

When you [completely uninstalled, etc] did you make sure that the .properties and wiz.* files were gone? I'm still thinking that something got corrupt in there early on in your process.

Once you get a complete download you'll never have to worry about this again, since it downloads 10 days worth of data (? two weeks ?...

Well, I'll have to worry in another two weeks. I guess this downloading is done in the background? Is there anyway to adjust these settings?
You wouldn't have to worry about it in two weeks. Every day it regrabs things... as long as it succeeds (albeit slowly) on a daily basis then there should be no worries.

maybe the result of incomplete download. Give it longer next time you try just to determine whether it's the slow download or something else.

When I set up this software, I dont have a choice as to how long I give it. It sits there on the setup screen saying downloading.
That is the point at which it is trying to get the list of channels. You do have to wait for that one to complete. The actual show data is done in the background.

I think something may be flaking with keep alives. I'm not a TCP/IP or router expert, but it sounds like your network connection to the server is getting dropped.

Yeah, I learned when I first got started to delete the entire directory after an uninstall because it won't delete some of the files, and those are usually the ones that need to be fixed

So its definitely a clean install. Ill just let it run for a few days and see if more data comes in.

If I knew what server it was trying to connect to, I could run some tests to see whats failing. I just checked my router, no problems there.

That eazy Player0 lean to use netstat command should show sage.tv: 7760 but in the Sage.properties it be sagetv_port=42024

I am well aware of the netstat command, but its useless unless I know when Sage is trying to access the internet. It accesses quite randomly.
