Order Number : 47791
Placed : 08/31/2010 09:37:44 PDT

I pre-ordered 3. I guess I'll soon find out how much my retired HD100(fixed) and 3 current HD200's will get on e-bay.

4. More than awesome I still can't believe they are selling it cheaper

you forgot dts-downconverting (huge if you rip blu rays)

I think you are underestimating the changes here.
Fair enough. I'm just a little let down because the only feature I really "needed", I've had from another device for 2 years now (PCH A-110).

My approach to ripping BluRays has always been to rip video and HD Audio track, then create AC3 track from HD Audio track, and finally mux it all back together with AC3 track and audio #1 for HD200s. This simple method has served me well for the past 2 years. I hear you though.....the DTS downconverting is a big deal to many people out there, just not me since I solved it in another creative, albeit not zero time, way.

I can't wait to hear about the online stuff. If they add native netflix AND Hulu, I'm in. Although the announcement from Xbox with ESPN also sounds good.

Sorry.. getting back on track. Glad the new ones are only $150....and faster, although the only speed thing that bugged me is the flipping through the guide, and I hardly do that.

As long as the 3D in Ortus (or some other STV) is really nice, I still don't mind the extra $100 i spent on my i3. Though the Blu-Ray menus and such are nice too... Actually glad this came out now, so I wouldn't have been tempted to give up on those features :-)

I think that I just have to live with it as it has always been the same & is nearly two years old not to mention the cost of returning it even if Sage would do an out of warranty replacement.

I tried it at one point and banged my head against the wall trying to get hd audio working correctly and still never did. The is my mine issue with a client but I hear you speed is great on a computer and 3d rendering as well.

I told you so!

Now whenever the HD-300 is OOS for more than two months there is an extremely high probability that the HD-400 is about to be released.

Considering ordering 2 to supplement my 2 HD-200s this evening.

No issue with the features list but would like to understand if it has faster start-up times (Warm Boot is the important one).

Also, does it have an on/off switch this time?

I understand MyMovies will be faster (caching) and I guess Ortus too so this has to be good for the platform.

Cheers

It's faster all around, but warm-boot for me sped up enough that I notice that it comes on faster.

I might go add another one to my order but ship it overnight just to get it quicker! Pretty awesome!

My one issue is the size. I guess the smaller size will make it convenient to place the box behind a LCD on the wall. That is great. The one problem is that some of the other places I have HD200's I have rigid CL2 HDMI cables and they aren't very flexible. Plugging them in to a small box is probably going to make the box move since it has little weight. That make sense?

That is ok but you didn't spend $250 on your i3. I was putting together the parts and then the licenses and it just didn't happen. What 3D content are you watching? Do you have a 3D TV yet? I still reference the fact that you will have OS issues much more often then you would enjoy faster speed...

Makes sense.
Can you get a hold of a flat metal plate (or some material) and stick the feet of the HD300 to the plate (velcro, glue, college-dorm-poster-gummy-stuff, etc.)? Or do you have the extender on top of another component that needs the top open for ventilation?

Each situation is a little different but I think I am going to have to use some velco and hold it down. I just like my components beefy like my women

I think he is referring to 3D animation/rendering effects that are now available in Sage - not 3D Movies. These make use of the 3d graphics processing power of your video card to do all sorts of fancy things (e.g. the Coverflow animations used by iTunes).

Oh gotcha! To each his own. If I can get to a movie quickly without crashes and get my HD audio from an m2ts I will be a very happy camper.

Those of us running Sage V6 because of lack of Mac support in V7 could care less

Looks like it might be an opportunity to pick up some bargain HD200s on eBay as the HD200 does all I need. Although it's difficult to resist a shiny new toy.
