Yeah, something like "We're out of stock, but more are due in in about 8 weeks."

This is a user forum and as such you shouldn't be expecting an answer from SageTV. If you actually went ahead and placed an order or emailed Sage support you might have received a response along these lines:

That quote was from June 22, 2010 and from the HD200 Stock thread.

Yep. I have an HD100 in the bedroom, an HD200 in the livingroom, and I'd love to put an HD300 in the basement. But that space will likely be filled with a Dune Base in the very near future. Sitting with no information is frustrating, and I don't need any further frustration from my consumer electronics components.

Since the info SageTV has given on the status isn't good enough - why don't you sell your media extenders? They should be easy to sell and you'll get a good price. Then you can move onto something that isn't so frustrating.

Your suggestion is not logical or helpful given that the frustration is not with the HD200, it is with not being able to get another one or sufficient information on when or if another one will be available.

Selling the one I have would only make the situation more frustrating!

My suggestion is very logical. Suntan doesn't want to be frustrated. My suggestion will resolve that.

Have you emailed XXXXXX and asked when more will be available?

Its very simple. People are posting that they're unhappy because SageTV isn't telling them when HD200s will be available. Yet these same people ignore the fact that SageTV has been telling anyone who emails them when the HD200s are due in.

If the agenda is to have something to complain about they're being successful.

If the agenda is to find out when HD200s will be available all it takes is an email.

Which all could have been avoided had sage just put the expected stock date on the shopping cart to begin with.

Anyone that can't wait. There are some very nice ION based thin client machines out there that will make great clients.

Those people are not necessarily ignoring emailing Sage because at least one of Sage's email responses has been posted in this thread:

d2globalinc quote: WOW - TIMING! - While typing this I just got the reply back from SageTV Orders

"We should have more HD Extenders in the next month or two."

Hmm.. no mention of HD200 - just "HD Extenders".. I'm putting my money down on new version coming

- D2G

So most would assume that they are no more special than D2G and would get the same vague response. Also, if others were getting more detailed information from emailing Sage, they would have posted it.

Speaking for myself, I posted here because I believe that Sage closely monitors this forum and has seen this thread. My intent is not to whine or complain but simply voice that a little more timely information regarding the why and the when of HD200s being back in stock would go a long ways in reducing frustration. I believe that is pretty much the reason the thread was started in first place.

Search back in all threads regarding HD100s and HD200s and delivery schedules. You will not find any more information detailing delivery dates. They are vague in those general details for a reason. And based on the track record will continue to be. This avoids the complaints of saying they will arrive on date X and they arrive, for whatever reason, on date y. Substitue date for day, week, month or year.

Thought there would be some more discussion since Sage practically announced the HD-300 in the new Sage 7 Beta Release notes:

Quote:
1. Added support for using YUV textures on the HD200 and up when sending JPEG images to them for display (this already occurred for Picture Library files; but now it will occur for any JPEG file...YUV images use half the space/bandwidth of RGB images)

not really.. I was going to be content purchasing an HD200 at $180... now, I'm guessing if I want an extender, I'm gonna be spending $225+ on an HD300 that doesn't add any extra features i am needing...
