Includes 595 hi res logos on black backgrounds for the following Shaw Cable and Direct areas,

Victoria, BC
Nanaimo, BC
Vancouver, BC
Kelowna, BC
Prince George, BC
Edmonton, AB
Calgary, AB
Winnipeg, MB
Shaw Direct East
Shaw Direct West

The included logos should cover most other Shaw Cable / Shaw Direct areas (TV and Radio) as the above areas have been completely covered and provide a lot of channel crossover between lineups.

The package has also been added to the Sagetv V7 plugin repository under "Images".

Thanks for these.. I just finally got them setup a month ago, but being .jpgs with white backgrounds, they just don't look as good as these .pngs will!

Sorry the included logos are acutally 400x200 jpg's. The working orginals (pre shrunk) are 800x400 png's and that's where the screen shot came from. I am slowly going to convert the entire set to another set of transparent (no black background) 400x200 png's as time permits (and that depends on the dirty looks I get from my wife).

Any idea how much coverage these would provide for Shaw Direct Satellite?

Shaw Direct (East and West) have approximately 460 distinct channel names. This package covers about 300 of the 460, about 160 missing. I have to keep a database to track all the names and lineups/providers.

Originally I was going to try to do all of Canada (Shaw, Bell, Telus, Rogers, Videotron) but there were 926 distinct logo names...

I am still pondering working on adding Shaw Direct, Telus, Bell, Videotron as it would mostly be a renaming excercise since we do only have a limited number of channels in Canada between providers due to the CRTC etc... Give me till the end of weekend and I may have Shaw Direct added ;o)

Here's another vote for Shaw Direct (West). As it is, this probably does the majority of my channels anyway, as I don't have too many premium channels. Thanks.

I have almost all the TV logos done for Shaw Direct West/East. There are 63 Radio channels... Does anyone really use them or require logos for them or would it be resaonable to do a generic logo for all the radio channels????

A year or so ago I uploaded almost all logos for Rogers (Toronto) in files titled canlogos*. My logos were pretty much all transparent but at a lower resolution than these - I think jorton's logos likely look better than mine.

FYI - a lot of the channels, at least with Rogers, are timeshift variations of the same network and unless you are really fussy you can use the same logo for all of these channels - ie. I probably get at least four CBC channels and I use the same logos for all. Same thing for east and west versions of cable channels like Comedy, Toon, YTV, etc. This means that there won't be as many missing as you think.

Shaw Direct East and West have been added. All tv and radio logos have been covered. A few of the radio logos are lower quality as there wasn't a decent logo online to use, but will do as most won't use them anyways. 595 logos in package. Also updated a couple logos I didn't like first time around.

If I was going to try to make a complete "Canada" set of channel logos I will have to add at least the following,

Bell Satellite West
Bell Satellite East
Rogers Cable (Toronto)
Telus Satellite West
Telus Satellite East
Videotron Cable (Quebec)

My goal is to create a set of logos that anyone in Canada can install/unzip and not have to spend a lot of time renaming etc...

Looks like I have about 600 of the 900+ done so I might as well go for it, although it may take awhile.

Any others that I am missing? Only major cities please.

Isn't Telus satellite just a rebrand of Bell Satellite? Therefore won't the channels be the same?

Telus and Bell Satellite look almost identical in my database so you are correct. It won't take too much work to add in the small number of missing channel ID's.

I'm trying to get the channel ID's correct for all lineups so users don't have to do any renaming etc. I have about half of Bell Sat East/West done.
