Alright, I've just gone through a round of debugging with SageTV support.

After trying custom resolutions, forced HDMI mode, and upgrading the TV's firmware it still wasn't working.

Eventually George suggested I try the HDMI 4 port on the TV (the HDMI port on the side of the TV), and it worked at 1080p60.

I know this probably isn't a solution that will work for everyone, but it did for me. For the life of me, I can't understand why the 3 HDMI ports on the back won't work with the HD300 at 1080p.

It does seem to be a signal drier issue in the HD300. So the success or not would eb dependant on the sensitivity of the reveiving end. Every port on the TV is going to go to different components, and is going to ahve different thresholds. Trying all will let you know if any are workable. Is it a solution? no - but it is yet another symptom sage can use to determine if there really is a legitimate problem across the board, or with just a few of the HD300's in the market.

there are HDMI amplifiers out there that would probably straigten the signal out. not sure what they run, cost wise, though. (just saw this for $45)

No Luck

No luck with either of two signal amps, either right out of the HD300 or right before the projector. So its either back to the HD-200 for 1080p/60 or stick with the HD-300 and only get 1080i. Getting downgraded resolution was not really what I was looking for when I paid for the upgrade.

Have you contacted support on the issue?

I contacted support about this issue when I had issues with replacing an HD100 with HD300.

They advised HD300 has different HDMI transmitter chip in it (integrated into the SoC), whereas the HD100/200 had an extra chip that was the actual HDMI transmitter.

So guess this caused the differences.

Has there been any update on this? I just got an HD300 for Christmas and only got around to plugging it in yesterday evening. When connected via HDMI and set to output 1080p to my 32' LG 1080p TV, I get random screen artifacts (usually lines) and the screen will go blank for seconds and then return to normal for varied periods of time. When I switch the resolution to 720p, I have no problems. I've tried three HDMI cables (two known to work).

FWIW, I really like the device, but I want to be able to get 1080p.
