Keep in mind that you can have just a main movie with multiple audio tracks and subtitles without all the other stuff and toggle them just fine with Sage while utilizing the ubiquitous folder structure.

It would be an undertaking to go back through all your ISO's and extract out the important elements and save them to folder structure though...

Maybe something to consider moving forward...

2) WAF on selecting an ifo from a list of vob and ifo files rather than a single iso in a folder is not very high. Tried the icon view but performance sucks and it's unreadable on the 4100
1) Never halts for me or asks for anything. It just burns whether I had ripped just the movie or the whole disk. Or even if I ripped the whole disk and now I just want to burn the movie. I choose the folder, click next, reads it from the hard drive and burns it to a blank disk. Done.
2)Didn't mean you needed to select an ifo. It recognizes it's a DVD based on the movie title folder containing a VIDEO_TS folder and all the normal files including the .ifo and .vobs from a ripped DVD. It knows to grab the .ifo which directs it what to play (menus, .vobs in the correct order, etc.) Just like Sage. You're not picking a file to play.

The intention for future dvd backups was going to be let my movies on the server handle it. The server will sit in the AV cupboard along with the 300, receiver etc and a USB lead through the wall would allow a DVD drive to be put in the main room.

Looking at our current catalogue in the collection manager it shouldn't be to hard to build up the points needed.

I was wrong on the TViX model Gerry, it's a 4000, not a 4100. I'm sure i tried it in folder mode trying to get to the bottom of why our region 1 dvd's wouldn't auto change the display mode. Turns out it wasn't ever implemented for dvd rips by TViX.

HD300 - Won't play DVD ISO in Extender Mode! Plz Help. Suggested By MyMovies

I am in the same boat as others in this thread except with Blu-Rays. I saved them as ISO files at the suggestion of MyMovies. I was having problems with Media Center and Blu-rays ripped in folder format when I first started with MyMovies before coming to SageTV. Had nothing to do with file sharing had to do with MyMovies suggestion on file formats. It helped to play them then, but now cannot play them in extender mode on SageTv or on my SageTv clients.

Question is now, is there a way to easily convert the single Blu-ray ISO files to a file format or do I need to re-rip all my blu-rays to a file format and if so what format is best for Sagetv.

I worked on this before, but did not know the right question to ask and this thread asked the right question.

I store all movies on my WHS and right now have to drop out of SageTV on my clients to watch Blu-ray ISOs or have to drop off extender to watch them on my HD-300s. I did some web searching and did not see anything specific to move ISOs to folder format.

Just extract them to a folder with 7zip or winrar or similar.

I'm not sure 7zip or winrar will unzip BluRay iso's. DVD's, yes - but I don't know if 7Zip or WinRAR has been upgraded to support extreacting from the UDF 2.5 in the bluray structure. In those cases, you'd either have to re-rip to folder, or mount and copy.

I know HD DVD was UDF 2.5, but I'm not 100% sure the same is true of BD.

BluRay is UDF 2.5 or UDF 2.6 - either way, winrar won't do it.

Thanks for the advice Fuzzy. I tried re-ripping one of my blu-ray disks to folder format vs. ISO.

Still a problem in WMC7 on MyMovies, but works perfect with SageTV. I will go though and delete my ISO files and my Metadata on My Movies and re-rip into folder format.

No more switching from Extender to Standalone to watch blu-rays.
