SageTV with Boxee = poor performance

SageTV runs fine by itself. Boxee software runs fine by itself. Having either one minimized while using the other causes all kinds of poor performance. The mouse jumps around the screen in halting jerks, Boxee streaming has sound out of sync with the video, and SageTV playback of recorded media is halting and jerky.

Netflix runs with SageTV minimized, but is in low quality and gives me "slow bandwith" errors and keeps stopping to buffer. Without SageTV running I get great quality with no buffering.

All of this while SageTV is not currently recording or playing anything.

System is a dual core processor running XP with 4G of RAM.

Any thoughts on where to start trouble shooting?

The whole reason I installed Boxee is to get Netflix. If there is a better way to integrate Netflix into SageTV, I'd like to know.
