Potential problem with & in titles.

I've had recurring problems with tv shows containing ampersand symbols in the title. (examples are Max & Ruby, and Toot & Puddle). Looking through the phoenix.log, I can see that it is correctly identifying the shows on TVDB, but is unable to retrieve fanart/season episode info.

here's the relative excerpts from phoenix.log:

I've added a bug for this. Given your log entries, I think it should be fairly easy to track down.

I'll see if I can get it out this weekend.

Although I'm wondering if the issue is simply that the episode name appears to contain multiple episodes.

The eipose name, "Max's Birthday; Max's New Suit; Good Night Max", looks like 3 episodes. I can find each of them in the xml, but not all together.

I've seen this issue with a Disney station show my daughter records (can't recall which). They put two 15min shows in one 30min timeslot making it impossible to scrape properly. Not that she cares anyways lol.

Hmm.. interesting. They are aired as a single block (3 8 minute episodes). Wasn't aware tvdb had them cataloged separately.

That said, it seems that even if it can't find an exact episode match, it might still be worth it to continue to grab series based fanart - as at least that is detected properly.

The other example I mentioned, too & puddle, appears to just be a matching problem. It appears TVDB only contains a Toot and Puddle, while my EPG shows Toot & Puddle. MediaTitles.xml should provide a fix for this, I'd think.

What I did was simply create a fanart folder under the TV show name, and manually put in the sub-dirs and fanart in each. Seems to have worked.

Oh, and to add to the inconsistancy, Toot and Puddle shows the 2 12 minute episodes per block combined in tvdb... gotta love inconsistancies in databases.

Toot and Puddle, s01e01, "The Great Cheese Chase / Swing Shift"

Yeah, I've done that, and it works. Just thought I'd see if it could be fixed 'automaticaclly'.

I think I only download series fanart if I get an episode match. I could change that though, since I made a number of other changes to support pulling down and populating the SeriesInfo data.

This would also likely help with those programs that don't really have significant episode information, but still valid series info. like NBC Nightly News.

I have also noticed this for many Disney channel recordings that have multiple episodes per show. Getting the fanart regardless if it finds the episode or not would be great!

@stuckless - this (several episodes blocked together) happens regularly for many kids' shows - I would add The Wonder Pets and Toopy & Binoo to the list above as well. It would be great if you could come to some sort of resolution.
