I subscribe to the "everything" package with Comcast (don't remember what they call it, but I get pretty much every channel if I use their boxes).

With the Prime and QuickView (or Sage), I get everything except:
  • No On-Demand Channels (this includes Channel 1 and a bunch of other channels that link back to on-demand)
  • No HBO / Showtime / Cinemax / Starz / Encore
  • The 50 or so Digital Music channels tune (after a while they show an image) but no sound.
Strangely enough, I also noticed that the SD version of TBS was marked "copy once", but the HD version was "copy freely." They were showing a re-run of "Friends" when I was testing my channels, so no idea why they would copy protect that.

I noticed some people posting about problems recording "Mad Men" with Comcast and the Prime, but this recorded OK for me this past weekend.

No the lineup is not Downloading... It scans the channels just like it does when scanning QAM on my other tuners. Then I just get the local and braodcast channels.

It keeps losing the Pairing. I just rebooted it.

Code:
19700101-00:00:00 System: reset reason = power on
19700101-00:00:01 CableCARD: M-CARD inserted
19700101-00:00:03 System: network link 1000f
19700101-00:00:03 System: ip address obtained: 192.168.0.63 / 255.255.255.0
19700101-00:00:05 CableCARD: Motorola card (0000:0331)
19700101-00:00:05 CableCARD: authentication status: authentication in progress
19700101-00:00:06 CableCARD: authentication status: authentication success, activation success

Then after a few minutes I get this.

Code:
20120605-14:31:56 CableCARD: message: A technical problem is preventing you from receiving all the cable services at this time. Please call your cable operator and report error code 161-0 to have this problem resolved.
20120605-14:31:56 CableCARD: M-CARD reset
20120605-14:32:01 CableCARD: Motorola card (0000:0331)
20120605-14:32:01 CableCARD: authentication status: authentication in progress
20120605-14:32:01 CableCARD: authentication status: authentication success, activation success

Oh well and the Saga Continues my Signals are good. Of course the tech did not have a cablecard with him. So it is either the cablecard or the HD Prime unit. Tune in tommorrow same Bat Time Same Bat Channel.

PS When I made the appointment I told them bring a CableCard and Booster if needed. So he brought neither.

Figures
Hello,

The logs suggest a hardware fault with the CableCARD. Please obtain a new card from your provider.

It's likely your network interface. Can't tell from your jpeg, you'll need to sort by CPU (click on the column) to see what's using the processor the most. It probably is SageDCT using the CPU, but it still is likely the interface which is truly at fault (I went through the same thing).

If you have PCI express slots get an Intel Gigabit NIC since it does the best job off of offloading the packet handling and saving your CPU. Don't settle for a RealTek based card because its $10-15 cheaper.
Changed to a PCI Express Intel Gigabit NIC. A slight bit better, but at 3 recordings it chokes out at 100%.

Any more hints? Sage Service and SageDCT are the big users of the CPU. Don't know where else to look or what might be a solution. Thought my processor was capable of handling all these simultaneous recordings.

I did some testing and disabling the SageTv Demuxer Livetv Played fine on my clients (does not work when Sagetv runs a service). My systems are pretty clean the only codecs I have Installed are NVIDIA and COREAVC and they are all windows 7. Of course then you have problems playing youtube.

You mean it fixed the "No Signal" problem we are all having?

I wouldn't say that ... I do not have the No Signal Problem ... I was just testing using another demuxer.. I was having problems before with corrupted recordings. But I switched my router to a pFsense machine and all my network problems are history.

Thanks to everyone that assisted in getting me up and running. Works like a charm all my channels coming in. Turned out to be a bad card. Silicondust determined that for us.

I read through some other forum threads dealing with this problem and nothing seems to point to my issues. There was one suggestion of eliminating the Wiz.bin file in order to rule that out as the cause, but doing so did not help.

See attached screen shot of my processes with 2 tuners recording simultaneously. Actually, it's the same with only one SageDCT tuner.

I posted this as a separate thread in this hardware forum, but no responses, so I moved this question to here.

Any hints or suggestions would be appreciated. My server specs are shown in my signature below.

Thanks,
Ron
I ran into the same problem with my Pentium 3.0 Dual Thread ... On my core i3 quad test machine it was barely a beep. The Pentium could not handle multiple HD recordings... CPU maxed out at 100%. Recording totally broke up. The regular HD homeruns I can record 4 Simultaneous HD with very little cpu. So I gather SAGEDCT is not optimized for pentiums.

Mine was fine this past weekend, it was the one from 5/27 that was an issue.

My server is a P4 3.0ghz w/ HT. SageDCT uses ~17% CPU when recording 3 streams.

Try excluding your SageTV directory from your virus scanner.

Do you use PBDA capture I believe I did not set that and my server is windows 7? My server is the same specs as yours P4 3.0. I do not have any Virus scanner.

Ok, here's a sample file. It won't play in Sage at all, but I can play it fine pretty much everywhere else.

No, I left the SageDCT settings at their defaults. OS is Windows 7. I am running the latest HDHomeRun beta drivers/firmware.

Just need a little more info.

Do you have loopback adapter installed?
Do You have firewall on?
What type of NIC you have?

Yes, loopback address. Firewall on w/ exceptions for the tuners. Intel Gigabit on the motherboard.
