2013 MLB All-Star Game

Anyone know the override for this? 2013 MLB All-Star Game is showing as invalid according to SRE. Thanks

Supported event monitors are always listed here. The episode override required for tonight's game is "American vs. National".

Slugger, I noticed on my setup with college football coming up that the game that my favorite picked up to record on 8/31 is not being monitored. I looked at www.livepvrdata.com and noticed that it looks like NCAA football is not listed as a monitored event. Is NCAA football going to be monitored this season? Thanks.

I noticed the green check mark beside my upcoming recording of the Leafs-Habs game next week so I guess SRE is good to go for the new hockey season!

Does anything have to be turned on for NBA basketball as I don't see the green checks by my upcoming recordings - the season starts this week.

Not sure where to post this....

My guide won't update to include the WS teams! I've forced the update a couple times in the sage web but it still says TBA.

So..

Is there a way to REALLY force the EPG update?

or...

Since there is only 1 WS game, will SRE know which one to monitor?

or..

When I manually enter the teams, how do I know I entered the teams correctly? I think I got the green check mark before I overrode the teams.
Is there a way to double check which game it's watching? I can't remember
if there was a webpage or something!

And thanks again slugger!! This is still one of the best features not available on any other DVR!!! (or does myth have this?)

Jim

The team info isn't always provided. If you're using the Sage EPG server then if you update like an hour before the game starts, it might fill in.

SRE talks to the production version of the livepvrdata web service only. The development version of the service has this logic built into it (i.e. if there's only one game on the day then regardless of the description always return the status of that one game), but in order for SRE to use that new version:

1) I need to finish and release the new version of the web service
2) I need to update SRE to use the new version of the web service

#1 has "been in development" for the better part of two years and I last touched the code about 14 months ago so to say there's no ETA for when that release would be done is an understatement.

#2 won't happen until #1 is completed. I won't mod SRE to talk to a development/beta service; seems like it would do more damage than good.

On the Sage web ui, look for the green checkmark. You can also edit the info from there as well. Just go to your upcoming recording scheduled, click the game, towards the bottom you'll see "SRE Status". There's an edit link there.

Jim
Myth did have this functionality because I wrote it way back when I was using Myth. Development of the Myth version died when my Myth server died and I had to move to a Windows sol'n temporarily b/c the only desktop I had couldn't be converted from Win to Linux (for other reasons). I loved Sage so much that the temporary switch became permanent. No one else from the Myth community picked up the project and so MRE died when I left Myth. The MRE plugin hasn't worked with Myth in 6+ years. A few people contacted me about reviving it, but I don't know if anyone actually successfully got it working with recent Myth versions.

My games are not showing green checkmarks yet - does it take a while to kick in?

Might take up to 24 hrs. SRE only polls the service for future recordings once a day.

Hmm... are you sure about that?? Unless you add an override, an airing with no teams in the description will not monitor. If it says it is (i.e. green check) then that's a bug. The current web service that provides the data to SRE will not provide data to an event with no team details.

Exclamation LOTS of Yellow Triangles

Ran into a problem with SRE this morning. I record a LOT of shows (20-50/day--I send them to missionaries who don't have TV), and all of a sudden SRE decided that it no longer wants to monitor Michigan football games. Oddly, it is monitoring the Ohio State games. (I think it's just telling me to not watch U of M, and stick with OSU, given I live in Columbus)

I tried removing the monitor from the show and re-adding it, but I just kept getting an "error. Unable to add, remove or override" message. Removed the show favorite, readded it, and SRE didn't do anything with it. Tried adding a monitor manually, same error.

I tried doing the same using the web interface, and got an "http 500, connection reset" (looked like something between groovy and the database broke) error when trying to do anything to the game. Ended up restarting the computer, since it hadn't been done since... august?

I'm thinking all this mess started last week with a Java update, which messed up the backend connections on the sage service. Removed the auto-update from Java, since this is the ONLY thing this PC does.

I looked at the log file, which is set on debug, but all it had was line after line of "DEBUG: Skipped status check of " referencing lots of shows. No errors in it anywhere, except a connection issue to livepvrdata last week during the OSU game.

After the restart, it's back to monitoring the football games (YAY!), but ALL shows that are 5-6 days out all have the yellow triangle symbol. If I go ahead and open them in the web interface, it says "SRE Status: Monitor status unknown." If I hit delete, it goes to the proper Not Monitored status.

Now that the plugin is working properly again, will all 300+ yellow triangles fix themselves(within the next 24 hrs)? I really don't want to go through all these shows and click delete to the monitor.

I definitely appreciate SRE; it makes sure that games get recorded completely, so all the missionaries I mail (yes, MAIL) them to don't miss that "last minute upset from behind" play. I keep sage around just for SRE. Thanks Slugger!

Yes, they should disappear within 24 hours. If not, they will eventually (as long as SRE is functioning). SRE monitors the web service for info once a day on future recordings, but given that the web service runs in the cloud, sometimes that once per day query fails (just a fact of distributed computing). If it fails one day, it'll try the next, etc. Then once the recording starts, it queries the service every few minutes and worst case it'll eventually correct itself. Usually, it will correct itself within that first 24 hours.

Just checked out Sage and noticed all of my yellow triangles are gone, it recorded both college football games correctly, extended as needed. All is right in the world once more. Thanks Slugger!

Time for some football
