This has the benefit of not having to watch or skip past the end credits.
PLEX works similarily. If one sets/clears the watch status, the resume position is cleared.

If you re-watch a show in Sage that you've already watched, does the watch status change to unwatched? or stays at watched but with a new resume position?

I thought about this a bit last night and I think one option for resolving the half watched PLEX status is to skip setting resume position if it's within the last X minute (or if the show is marked as watched).. I'll have to experiment a bit this weekend to see what works better.

There is a setting for whether to reset the watched status when you view a file again. In SageTV Setup/Detailed Setup:

"The "customize" submenu contains:

FFW RWD Times
Inactivity Timeout and OSD Autohide
Automatically Enable Channels Newly Added to EPG Lineups
Power Management settings
Numeric Text Input Settings
Online Video Optikons
Mouse Auto repeat rate
Instant search mode navigation menus
Maximum Results per search
Focus Follows mouse movement
Delete LiveTV Files when not using IR
Include Episode Names in filenames
Remove padding on back to back favs on same channel
Reser watched shows when played again " (Reser should be Reset obviously)

There is also more to that submenu, I just clipped it off at that point.

It is under Details Setup Customize "Reset Watched Shows when played again"

I have a fix for this. I've refreshed the 8.1 download to contain this fix.
https://github.com/ai7/sagetv-for-pl...enter/releases

You can also just replace this file if you don't want to do the whole install again if you already have 8.1 installed:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ai...de/__init__.py

1. delete library (should not need to clean bundle/empty trash)
2. exit plex
3. re-install plugin, or just replace the one file above for the BMT TV agent.
4. start plex, add back library.

If resume position is with 2 minutes of ending for shows 60 min or less, or 5% for shows longer, it'll skip setting resume position. so the show would simply get whatever watched/unwatched status from Sage.

This should solve the half watched status in PLEX for shows you already watched to the end.

Thank you. That worked great!

update for Plex Server today

there's an update for Plex Media Server that just arrived - 0.9.11.16
anyone know if it breaks the links with the Sage plugins?
has anyone installed the update with success?

That's the older version. However, updated to 0.9.12.0 yesterday without trouble.

I have noticed that the updater doesn't always detect the latest update if there is more than one newer version available.

I seem to be having problems with the latest version. Neither of the scanners will "stick". They show-up and I can choose them, but when I check back, it's using the plex scanners, not the sage scanners. Both TV and Movies

Yep, same behavior here using Plex server 9.12.0. When you select sagetv scanner it says "Scanner A scanner is required." and the save changes button is ghosted out, your only option is to select "Cancel". You can select and save the "Sage tv BMT Agent".

can Plex updates be uninstalled, or is the workaround not a bother...

This looks like a bug in PLEX. I just upgraded from 0.9.11 to 0.9.12, and see the same issue.

Looks like PLEX is invoking the wrong scanner. The sageplex scanner log is not produced at all. But the "Plex Media Scanner.log" does contain all the sagetv recording files. This log corresponds to the "Plex Series Scanner", as you can see from the content of the logs.

Looks like the PLEX add library dialog has been updated in this release. There must be a bug somewhere that it's setting the wrong scanner.

You can uninstall and reinstall older version here:

The Phoenix Plex Plugin appears to be broken with the 9.12.0 update too.

Why would they do something deliberate when it benefits them the more people use PLEX?

sorry, not clear enough on my part - does the bug only cause problems for Sage users?

I would guess it's a problem with any custom scanners installed...?

My Plex seems to be working correctly. I installed it on Thursday and have had several recordings since then that have showed up in Plex.
