Constant Crashes
I know that this board has slowed down but hopefully someone on here can help me out. I've been using Sage since Version 2.0, and finally I've encountered a problem I can't figure out for the life of me.
I have a server running, and 3 extenders throughout the house. (2 x HD200 1xHD300) My extenders are shutting down on their own. Sometimes they will go a day running fine but mostly they crash every few hours and sometimes multiple times within minutes. At first I thought it was my network (loosing connection causing the extenders to shutdown) so I changed my router, but that didn't fix it. Then I noticed a setting in the SageTCPServer plugin saying "Auto reboot all the extenders on the restart of this plugin" so I turned that off.. no fix. I disabled all Plugins and that did not fix it. Now I think its actually Sage that is cutting off my extenders so I've turned on all debug logs I can find. Every time a crash occurs I run to my computer to copy the log files to a folder so that the last entries are close to when the crash occurs. I've looked over the logs but I don't understand any of it. I have noticed some entries that stand out like "HANG DETECTED" but I have no idea what else is happening around that time to cause the hang. I'm really frustrated because this has been going on for months and its getting to the point where I don't know what else to do. My log files are too big to add as attachments on the forum so I've uploaded a zip containing a few recent ones. I would seriously appreciate any help you guys could provide. http://www.mediafire.com/?rvn9xm75xtgt437 Thanks Nelson PS: Don't judge my viewing habits!!! Its not just me watching TV, its a whole family ranging from kids to dirty older brothers!!!

A few thoughts, you've probably already been through them but just a few idea's.
Is your Sage box used purely for Sage or is it being used as a desktop too? If it is, it could be being hit hard buy another process maybe. Antivirus software? have you excluded the Sage program files and the recording folders? You could try static IP addresses on the extenders incase they're losing DHCP assigned ones. You could also ping the extenders from the server and see if they loose connectivity from the sage box itself at the same time that they stop working. I've had the odd occasion where an extender will shut down half way through watching a recording, but its usually been something to do with a particular recording causing it to crash. |

Sounds to me like your network card in your Sage server is failing. Try swapping out your network card or use a USB network adapter as a replacement to see if it keeps happening.

Thanks guys I'm going to try the wiz.bin and the network card thing if need be. Just curious if anyone looked at my logs and that's what gave them the idea. I only ask because I want to know if maybe someone saw something that hinted to those suggestions.
The network card was something I thought of too but I didn't want to spend money if I didn't have too, and the Wiz.bin... Well that's my baby. I lost one years ago and I always felt like I lost something that knew me so well. I know I can export and import info to a new one but there's years of watched and Don't Like tv embedded in there, and it's never been the same after the first loss. (I'm sad, I know) So I'll try those things but if anyone else see's or thinks of something new, please let me know. Thanks again

You might also delete the Client properties files. My dad's just messed up (no crashes) the other day.

I finally had a little time to look at your logs. First thing I'd try is uninstalling all of the plugins. You have a lot of them and they may not be playing nice together.
I can tell for sure that there is a problem with "Phoenix Fanart for Malore Menus v1.02". Are you using the Phoenix UI? If so, I don;t think the plugin will work with that. Ditto Phoenix_Fanart.stvi. That's not importing properly. You also may be running out of memory or Java Heap space and it's causing this error: Code:
