What I ended up doing...
I gave up on NFS and went with Samba. (I just need to learn NFS far better it seems).
So, yes once adding all three, and using the correct SageTV Recording Path:
/var/media/tv
/media/SageTVXL01
/media/SageTVXL02

All became right with the world!

Again, thank you!!
Great to hear... enjoy (and we're always open to ways to enhance/improve the addon). Also, I can help you with NFS if you like as I just got my NFS setup working and it's working great.

Hi Kricker,Lehighbri,Aaronb,

Thanks for your great work to get this addon
I am a Sage user and recently use Raspmc on Raspberry Pi

I do have a couple of questions after reading this entire thread.

1- Does it require Sage version 7 or does it work with Sage 6?
(Currently I run Version 6 but have license keys to get to 7 if need be.

2- I googled where to get the Dependencies: SageTV with: Jetty Web Server 2.3.0.14 or newer Sagex-api vs 7.1.9.12 or newer, Batch Metadata Tools 4.10.1, xbmc.js Understand that copy of xbmc.js from "plugin.video.sagetv\extras\sagex\services.
Can some one give me links as to where to find these?

Also appreciate if there are some step by step installation instructions for Sage
Assume for Raspmc it just to install the addon?

Thanks in advance

You will need Sage 7 in order to install the required plug-ins to talk to the addon.

The xbmc.js file is included with the XBMC addon when you download it.

I don't have a Pi, so I can't speak to that. I assume you mean you will run XBMC on the PI. In that case I think you just install the add-on as normal. Finding the path to the addon to get the .js file might not be so easy though. Good luck.

Sage pre-rq's

Hi Kricker
That was a quick response!!

Yes I understand where to get .js file from (copy out of the Raspbmc files) and where to copy into in Sage.

What I am still struggling with where to get/download the dependencies for Sage from. Also install instructions for Sage i.e where to save the dependencies etc are welcome!!

Thanks

When you install Sage7, it has a plugin manager. You get what you need from that. It is easier than you think.

Yeah, once you go to Sage V7 you will never want to go back to V6. If for no other reason than the awesome plugin manager. (but there is so much more to love in V7)

Version 1.5.0 Released

FYI... I've been watching the ongoing development of XBMC's upcoming Gotham release (v13) and noticed they included some enhancements to significantly speed up JSON parsing (which this addon uses). I decided to pick up the development of this again and publish an updated release that detects if you're using Gotham or not and uses the faster JSON libraries if so.

Also, while we wait for an official PVR addon to be developed, I'm happy to continue to enhance this. Please do let me know if you have anything you'd like fixed or enhanced and I'll see what I can do.

Changelog is below (EDIT: XBMC has resolved their addons server issue so this new version is now available in the XBMC repo).

Version 1.5.0
- Updated reference to json lib to use the fastest lib possible (per this thread: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=173887)
- Updated addon.xml with additional attributes to support new addon repository (forum link, URL, etc)
- Changed order of context menu items to put more frequently used items at top (e.g. set watched) and less frequently used lower (e.g. remove favorite)
- Updated all language files to use required range of string ids between 30000 and 30999
- Updated with additional language support

PS... according to XBMC's new addon site below, this addon has been downloaded 40,383+ times! Thanks for all the support!!

Nice job. I've currently left Sage completely and use NPVR. I still try to keep an eye on what's going on with the add-on though. I also still have SageTV installed for testing issues if need.

Lehighbri, I put XBMC ELEC on an older ASUS eee box with no glitches. I'm setting up addons and I"d like to install your 1.50 XBMC Sage plugin but I can't figure out where to find the "XBMC.js" file to paste into Sage folder. The destination folder in Sage I found easily but I can't for the life of me figure out where the source file is located in the plugin.

I even installed XBMC on my W8.1 PC and installed your Sage plugin because I thought it would be easier to find XBMC.js on it rather than embedded Linux machine but I still can't find it.

Sorry to sound so dumb but I'm hopeful you can bail me out.

It's in the extras folder (and just drill into the subfolders.. it's the only file in the subfolders).

LehighBri,
I've been trying to setup version 1.5.0 but I when I read it in notepad the xbmc.js file is 1.4.2 rather than 1.5.0 in the zip file. Is that the way it should be? If not is it possible to get xbmc.js 1.5.0. It isn't working for me as is.

I have smb setup correctly via the browser and I'm quite sure the Sage file path is also correct. I simply get script error message.

Thanks for your patience and help. I know you're being asked variations of the same question and it must get frustrating for you to deal with those like me with marginal Sage plugin install skills.

1.5.0 is the addon version
1.4.2 is the xbmc.js version

They happened to be the same before but leave it as is. I'll only up version xbmc.js if I edit it which I haven't lately.

If you have further issues, please send your xbmc log or at least a snippet

Look at line 253. Did your set your SageTV server settings correctly in the addon? It says unable to connect to SageTV server so you need to get the settings right first.

I browsed the path from SageTV plugin successfully to SageTV server folder and saved it in the second field, the path entry. I assume that would make that entry correct.

The first entry, the Sage folder, would thus be the issue -- correct? I gather from reading the pages of posts on this plugin, the SageTV folder path can be tough to enter correctly. I read in earlier posts the trick was to use the path script but to reverse "/" with "\" but maybe it isn't that simple.

I have entered the following into Sage folder field:

\\server-pc\users\sage\videos\sagetv\

Should the IP Address of server be used instead of name "server-pc"? Then it would be as follows:

\\192.168.0.xx\users.... and so on

The biggest issue for now is XBMC can't connect to your SageTV server. So you need to confirm those settings first. The other directories and folders in the settings are only used during playback.

For the server settings, I always use the IP address of the server and not the server name. Try that and see how it goes.

Lehighbri, I finally figured out the default server address needed replacing with my server location and "Voila." It is a very quick response to see the menus and views recordings, channel listings and so on -- quite impressive.

I haven't got it tweaked to play a recording yet but I don't want to wear out my welcome in this thread so I'll play around with settings myself for a while.

Thanks for your help so far and for creating a great plugin.

The only way that I can get the ad-on to work is toadd the addresses like so:
Server address numerical ie 192.168.1.xxx
Port - 8080
Sage TV recording folder - local windows address on server ie F:\SageOne
Network path - Samba Address IE smb://Server/SageOne
