It's not to say that it can't be done though... so if someone wants to try to re-use concepts from this addon to build a scraper, I'd be happy to support them.
I guess the long term vision is to keep an eye on the PVR backend if they open it up to support the language you guys have been working in.

Added a pretty shortcut to the main screen to go right to it. Once I get caught up on transcoding we'll see if the family takes to it.

I tried to install using my Mac OSX 10.7 with XBMC version 12.0 Beta 2 and Sage TV add-on version 1.4.2 but can't get any playback. I can play the file from the SMB so I know the MPG plays. My Sage server is WHS 2011 and I believe I have setup my config correctly:

Sage TV Recording Path = D:\ServerFolders\etc...
Sage TV Recording Network Path = smb//user : pass@192.x.x.x/Sage Recorded TV

I am sure I am doing something stupid but can't figure out what I am missing.

Keep up the great work!

Looks like it is not translating the local path to the network path. How did you set the network path?

Mine appears as:
smb://PVR/Media/Recorded TV/

1. Can you send me the output of the following URL when you open it in a browser?
http://sage:frey@192.168.0.10:8080/s...0&encoder=json

2. Can you take a screenshot of your sagetv settings so I can see what you specify for your SageTV recording path and also your playback path? Something seems fishy there.

I assume the SageTV server is on another PC?
Did you browse to set the Network folder? It should end with a trailing "/".

Looks like we got a Tag Team effort going on here

I just resolved it.

Kricker, your suggestion on the translation had me thinking so I changed my smb within xbmc file manager to the hostname of the server instead of the IP. So it looks like this in the xbmc file manager smb://servername/Sage Recorded TV/. However, when I browse for it in the Sage plugin it pulled up as the IP for smb (smb://192.168.0.10/Sage recorded TV) and set the configuration as such, but then started to work. Not sure if it is a bug or just how smb works but seems to have fixied my issue.

Thanks for your fast response!

Glad to hear it. It may be something with how SMB works on the MAC. When you browse to the path instead of typing it in, you'll have a better chance of it working. If you can browse to the path in XBMC, that means it can see the path.

You have no idea the pain these network paths caused us during development.

Nice work. And yes, let's not rehash the pain we went through figuring that out.

Thanks guys, I have been a fan since early on. I was using an ATV2 which became a huge hassle as pretty much everything I have/capture is above the specs of the little device and it showed.

I am considering an upgrade to the Raspberry PI which got me tinkering with the plugin on my mac. LehigBri, how is the fast forward/rewind on the PI? Would it be like my HD300 (smooth) or clunky like my client (10 sec skips)? This is a huge WAF in my house.

Fast forward/rewind I would say is still a work in progress on the rpi and won't give you the smooth experience on the HD300. Skip forward and back (+/- 15 seconds, etc) works just fine. But the XBMC and openelec devs are actively working to improve the experience on what seems like a daily basis so good to keep your eye on things. I personally don't care about that feature and think the rpi has been fantastic (main issue for me is every time a commercial is reached as defined in the .edl comskip file, playback pauses... they are working on this issue too).

I personally don't give a damn about FF or REW but SkipFwd SkipBk and SkipFwdx2 are crucial as I watch lots of sports on my system and I used these buttons dozens of times during each viewing.

While all those hardware decdoers will make your life easier, it seems like UI performance is pretty sluggish on the RPi, isn't there a more powerful box out there. PIVOS or some such...

I have my eye on the Ouya box. They are working on a partnership with the XBMC devs and should be out in Q1 of 2013. The specs are strong and it will run the Android version of XBMC for $99. I may hold off on the PI and grab one of these when it comes out.

Ouya kickstarter backers should get their consoles in March if all goes well / according to plan. Pre-orders probably won't ship until Q2...

Erik from the Comskip board chimed in. He said he will try to include an option for XBMC commercial skips (Action #3) in the next build.

So, that should allow us to skip commercials and back up to watch any content that was mis-identified.

Not sure if you saw this, but version comskip81_052_donators.zip that came out on Dec 30 includes the following enhancement. Looks like this should fix the issue you're interested in:

Quote:
Changes on 0.81.052
- Parameter added: edl_skip_field, sets the skip indicator in an EDL file. Default value is '0'. Set to edl_skip_field=3 to have better skipping on XBMC

where is the xbmc.js file?

hello, I think this is a basic question but for the life of me can't find the answer on this or the XBMC forums (I'm very new to XBMC).
I have a Pivos XIOS DS with the Linux XBMC build. I installed this addon in XBMC and all the prerequisite plugins on my sage server. However, I can't locate the xbmc.js file that needs to be copied to the sagex directory. Can someone please tell me where to find it?
Thanks
