playom plugin integration or replacement?

I noticed the playon plugin menu is gone but you can get to it via the online services option. I thought i remembered seeing something about a upnp browser being added to gemstone and now wonder if i can uninstall the playon plugin while maintaining functionality.

Well, I just got a surprise in Online/More Online Services/ I tried the Upnp browser and connected to my Plex Media Server and played a bunch of shows back... I don't know what magic Stuckless (Phoenix) and jusjoken did but it works!

* Well mostly, depends on the content that you want to play back, some of my files don't play back, but probably more a Plex server issue. Still cool stuff.

I can browse Playon from the Playon menu item and Netflix is working for me as well.

This is all with the Playon Plugin disabled on my Client PC.

I haven't played with this much, as my playon server isn't working right now, but I did want to mention that navigating through the uPnP menus seems much faster these days. Is that a new feature of Gemstone?

I may have jumped the gun on this, the links in the More Online Services disappeared when I uninstalled Playon rather then just "disabling" the plugin so I think that it is still required.

@jusjoken - What can we do/try with the upnp update?

So far there is nothing new in Gemstone to support upnp/playon. The phoenix core as Stuckless announced now support new features related to this but I have not had the time yet to consider how we will include these into Gemstone so it may be a bit until I tackle that.

EP did make some changes to the playon plugin but I am not sure he released it or not... but there are some added menu options inside Gemstone that we can include once he does release it to allow more menu customization to support his update.
